"La Portena is consistently good food. Being here during COVID, the restaurants were pretty much empty...Not at La Portena, there were locals waiting for a table! Not only is the food consistently good, the prices are very reasonable. The crispy whole red snapper is a...favorite as is the pizza. Good service, good food and good prices."

"My wife and I love Jungle Pizza! The pizzas are amazing and I've overheard, more than once, couples sitting near us mentioning how they were the best pizzas...ever. The Ambiance is very cool and laid back. Perfect way to celebrate an evening in Zihua with background music at the perfect level without getting annoying. Kids of all ages (including us 60 year old kids) will enjoy the place. Now the kicker... you must try their signature Margaritas! They alone make Jungle Pizza a memorable evening (that is if you're into huge beautiful Margaritas). Pull out your phone and take a pic of you slurping on one of these, but use your wide angle lens LOL. Thanks to Ruben, the owner, and his staff for making Jungle Pizza one of our favourite places to go in Zihua. Oh yeah, and try the salad, they're fresh, big and delicious."

"We stopped here a couple of evenings for dessert and the sweet crepes were wonderful as well as the malts and frappacinos. You basically create your own and pretty quickly they bring out the most yummy concoctions ever! We hoped to return for lunch to try what looked like delicious salads, but it was closed for a few days over Christmas. Hopefully next time!"

"Among the many restaurants on Madera beach this is become our favorite. is quiet and nicely appointed with very pleasant service. I highly recommend their avocado stuffed with shrimp (the best in Zihua and is enough for two people. The grilled red snapper is cooked to perfection. My wife had a grilled pork chop very tasty and not quite as tender as I would like it but as good as you may get in the area. The Apple strudel strudel with ice cream was great as all the other desserts."

"Delicious! We each had one of the potatoes. And all were very tasty. Inexpensive beer and soda served in the bottle. A great little gem. Casual and fun. Great for families (even picky eaters)!"
