"The Porto De Mar is located close to the basketball court, waterfront and is the perfect restaurant around 7 pm to people watch, good food and even better they have an incredible 3 person music ensemble with Juanito Zihue on lead guitar and vocals... They play Mexican, Latin, and American music... Juanito is the Bocelli of Ziwhat and you will not be disappointed... We visited every Sunday night for four weeks and wish we could keep going... Have a great dinner, watch the people and sip on a Presidente Brandy until they stop playing.. If you are lucky they will go beyond 9 pm."

"After enjoying the restaurant so much last year we eagerly returned again this winter. The décor has greatly improved from its beginnings and the hard work is evident. The menu too has expanded to a larger selection. The salads and tortilla soup to start were excellent. Two people in our party had the Tuna and while alright they remembered the Tuna Lemongrass they had the year before and said they liked it better. They mentioned that to the owner/chef and he said just make a request when making your reservation and he would be happy to make it for them. The Mahi, Mahi was well received. I had the lamb and was disappointed in the quality of the meat. We made a wine selection but were told that they only had the one bottle of it so we had to change brands for the second bottle among 4 people. I still think this a good restaurant but they need to stay focused on the details."

"The market visit was very informative and interesting. The class was fun and the food prepared was absolutely brimming with flavour. Monica was a great instructor and met everyone's dietary needs. The only regret was that we didn't attend the first week we were there as we would have known about the market the locals shop at. The fish and produce was much fresher. Thanks Monica for a wonderful food experience."

"Fuimos a cenar para festejar nuestros cumpleaños. La cena espectacular, ensalada de pulpo, filete a la pimienta y helado de coco!!!Una delicia todo un extasis culinario.Ensalada de pulpo con cítricos, filete pimienta en su punto y la salsa del filete buenísima.Definitivamente volveré!!!!"

"Only a year old, this little gem is rustic and very laid back. The menu included such simple fare as tortilla soup and fresh quacamole as well as fresh Camaronillas (handmade, fresh shrimp tacos more like a stuffed Gordita), and fresh Filete de...Pescado a unique fresh fillet breaded and grilled in garlic and oatmeal. Beside great food, the setting is absolutely amazing! We went horseback riding on the beach before dinner, lazed in the crystal clear swimming pool and even played a little beach volleyball ALL while enjoying cold drinks and great service! The owner/host Jose Angel and his family/staff were excellent I highly recommend the short minute drive/cab ride from downtown Zihuatanejo for this special treat! Oh, and don't forget to leave time to watch the sunset and take a short siesta in one of the many hammocks available right there on the beach! We'll definitely be back!"
