"I’ve probably passed this place dozens of times but never thought to actually try it. It has this kind of mesmerizing aura that just draws you in…maybe it’s the music, maybe it’s the unique decor. In any case, it led to a great dining experience!. The first thing that you’ll notice inside is the neat signs, posters, art, and the likes scattered all about."

"First impression, restaurant smells of old and mildew. Service nothing special. Ordered their famous half chicken and side of rice. Spit the first bite of chicken. Tasted like the restaurant smells. Rice was dry and cold. Did not eat my meal. Got my check, complained and was offered a free dessert. No excuse for serving this type of food. Beware."

"Was looking for a treat after a busy stretch of long work days and this hit it out of the park! I had a piece of a seasonal creation they had conjured up and baked. I think it was called White Chocolate Pumpkin Spice Apple Cake! There were layers of a nicely spiced sponge cake with apple filling all covered in a white chocolate icing pared that with a JJ Bean expresso brew. Heaven! After that I couldn't leave without bringing home a slab of their carrot cake. And that turned out to be one of the best carrot cakes available anywhere. The cream cheese icing was just right! Not too sweet, not too cheesy, not too thin or thick. Only minor negative was that my coffee wasn't brewed hot enough. I'm sure they'd adjust upon request though. Thankfully I don't live near this place!By the way it is in Vancouver not Victoria and not in an upscale neighbourhood - it's an up & coming foot traffic area off the beaten path although it is on a fairly busy vehicle street."

"There’s no dessert, but don’t despair, ALL the drinks will distract and delight you!! The Shameful Tiki room serves the best hand shaken drinks over perfectly smashed ice. Complemented with fresh juices, fancy rum, and delicious garnishes, these drinks won’t disappoint. And neither will the food, especially if you’re a fan of pork. I ended up with the pupu platter because I could not decide. The staff are extremely charismatic and helpful and the ambiance… incredibly surprising. Make sure to make a reservation, because this place fills up fast."
