"We came across this place on a Monday evening and went in mainly because there was a good band playing. The waiter was pretty moody and told us they were only doing tapas and refused to give us a drinks menu, although other people seemed to be getting other food. Anyway, we ordered a cheese platter and the seafood platter, along with house red wine and 1664 beer. The food was good and all the other staff were friendly and attentive. Also had an ice cream dessert and a coffee. Good value - you pay up front so no need to wait for the bill."

"This restaurant was my first discovery on peas. And since then, it's become my favorite restaurant. Family atmosphere and small attention of the team. Open all year round, it's worth it when everything's closed here. Lasagne is super good, pizza too and my husband loves the saucepan of Saint Jacques. Every taste. After necessarily when there is a world (and sometimes it is, because the restaurant is appreciated that you have to wait a bit like everywhere. I became a faithful client."

"We sat in the middle of the street as that how it is there, it is like a section special for places like this, but not much fun when is started to rain staff were slow in putting the cover over us! Food was ok...everything think we wanted they did not have run out! If you’re a restaurant this should not be happening in peak time in July Service was also very slow we waited over 45 min for our food and when it came I said where is mine? They did not understand! They thought we wanted 1 portion and 2 plates! You got to employ staff that can speak a little English if not there must be someone there this is Europe! Also for the first time as we did not leave the restaurant till around 10pm I must say I did not feel safe round that area! As during our meal there were several Police cars close by and one opposite! These are my words only. Food was ok"

"It amazes me that L'Ambassade has not regained its Michelin star. Last year I ate in Giles Goujan's Auberge du Vieux Puits. It was good, very good, but L'Ambassade is in many respects just as good for one-sixth of the price. Patrick Olry is a creative, stylish and, most of all, discerning chef who produces excellent well-balanced dishes. We had the L'Approche menu at 30 euro. I do not know how he can produce such a meal at such a price. I had the red mullet and cod starter with artichoke -- superb, as was my partner's tuna. My swordfish was supreme: it tasted as if it had been caught that morning. My partner's veal was equally good. The deserts were delicious: a roasted apricot for her and a delicious fabricated cherry for me. The cheese trolley is one of the best I have ever come across. The wine list is extensive and the somellier very helpful and knowledgeable. There are other good restaurants in the area, including the Auberge du Vieux Puits to which foodies from all over make their pilgrimage. But L'Ambassade is so much better value."
