"My wife and I went with another couple for dinner last Friday and loved it! The food was delicious and you could tell the pasta was homemade and fresh. Besides entrees we only got garlic bread to start and it was amazing. For my meal, I had the Orecchiette and I am so glad I did. The pesto sauce was super rich and zesty and I added sausage which added just the right amount of kick. The rest of my party got the Chitarra Pomodoro, Gnocchi, and the Roasted Half Chicken and they all had high praise for their food, as well.The outside seating was okay, but I could see how it wouldn't be ideal depending on the temperature and time of day. They do have a small indoor area, though. The wait staff was very friendly and attentive. The wait for our food was no more than 15 or 20 minutes and there was no problems with any of our orders. The food is reasonably priced and the portions are very good (though you will want more because of how tasty everything is).Definitely recommend for anyone looking for delicious, fresh, homemade Italian food. We are so happy we found Ellie's and look forward to coming back and trying the different items on their menu."

"Kihon has such a deep menu. Your Sashimi is excellent. Your roles are creative. You have a bunch of Big Lebowski crap. It's fun. Try the nihilist instead of rice. Sashimi from your choice and the Nihilist roll, that is the way to go. Trust me."

"Delicious food! I got the smoked salmon eggs Benedict, my husband had the salmon scramble and also the blueberry waffle. It was phenomenal!!! If we ever visit Long Beach again, I’ll definitely eat here more than once! Staff was friendly and kept our coffee topped up!"

"My husband and I went for the first time, my husband was starving, they will tell you they have tapas style, but they serve a lot of food, we had the tuna tartar for appetizer it was delicious and very good size, we also order fried yucca and it was great, not greasy at all. My husband had the pork and I had 2 tacos, let me tell you that was a lot of fun. I highly recommend this place. They were busy and they had one server, but he had helped, he got busier towards the end. Not his fault, the restaurant needs to hire more servers."

"I have loved this restaurant any other time I've gone, but, for downtown dining, the food was outright terrible. All three of us HATED the food, and it's unfortunate that I place I've highly regarded in the past could serve such horrendous food. Extremely disappointing and a giant waste of money and time."

"Sad. The water tasted like mold. Made me sick just drinking it. I ordered the prime rib dip and it was absolutely greasy everywhere. My boyfriend got the fish and chips and they were also greasy a lot as well. The waiter was nice though and kept coming to ask if we needed anything. Great hospitality but really greasy food and terrible water."
