"When we saw that there was no OpenTable review for this restaurant, we knew we had to give one. Gastromaquia gave us one of our best meals of the year. We stayed in Madrid for a night before we went back to the states to find a place for dinner. We found this restaurant near our hotel on OpenTable without further information (except it was nearby). We found the restaurant website and were fascinated by the menu and decided to make a reservation. We're so glad we made it! From appetizers to dessert we were enchanted and inspired. For appetizers we ordered the Blue Fin Tuna (Abrazado de atún Rojo) and the goat cheese with Pesto (Queso de cabra a la plancha). The aromas of tuna with tomatoes, green and Sriracha sauce were refreshing and amazing. The warm goat cheese and pesto gave a new definition for “comfort food”. For our main dishes we ordered the Truffled Mushroom Risotto (Risotto de Shitake trufado) and the Duck Magret (Magret de pato). The mushroom risotto was warm and tasteful. The duck was incredible. Not normally fans of the duck, we approached this court with most contempt. The preparation was perfect. All combined flavors took any gamines that could get you from duck and instead gave this wonderful fleshy taste that was amazing. With all the dishes, the thing we most appreciate from this menu, were the wonderful combinations of ingredients and flavors you think you know, but when in the dishes we had opened the mind and palate to new creative flavors. With such a tasteful meal, we decided to share the Mojito Sorbet (Sorbete de mojito) and coffee for dessert, which ended up a perfect, refreshing, palate cleaning choice. Overall, we were so happy with our meal and we were delighted that we found this restaurant. We recommend it to anyone travelling in Madrid."
