"Don 't be scared off by the basement location. Lapointe in the market is the premier seafood restaurant in downtown Ottawa. Casual walk-ins might be turned off by the 'basement ' location under a seemingly unfussy sushi counter, but don 't be. The sushi on the main floor (SushiFresh) is the #1 freshest sushi in Ottawa, even the Ambassador of Japan visits here when his chef is unavailable, and Lapointe, below, is equally high calibre. <br/>Decor is casual Atlantic nautical style but the menu, seasonal and changed often, is appetizing and offers a great selection of the freshest ingredients. From fried oysters to old fashioned New England clam chowder, 24lb lobsters to sesame salmon steaks. There is something for everyone. <br/>Lapointe offers more appetizer selection than the Fish Market across the street, the only real competitor in the market for seafood, but Lapointe offers less non-seafood items for those picky diners. If you come here for drinks and aps, this is the right place. If you are a seafood lover, I don 't recommend dragging non-seafoodies with you as they will be stuck with salads. <br/>Fantastic seafood fare. Will definitely visit again. And again."

"We sat at the table of the most amazing chef at Ka Familia in Barrhaven this afternoon. Ya 'll...I can 't explain the amazing goodness that came out of Chef Dhom 's kitchen! We started with amazing lumpia. Then we continued the experience (and it was truly an awesome experience) with a fabulous tapas plate for 2. Every ounce of that platter was phenominal but the longanisa on the spoons with the corn relish...OH EM GEEE! When we thought Chef had truly outdone himself- we bit into the 'Fluffy pancake ' with stewed apples and a delicious berry compote on the side. Now listen up: FLUFFY doesn 't begin to describe this huge plate of goodness! Don 't miss it! So as we were ready to leave my husband decided he needed to try a dish that he remembered from his very early years in Manila. The Dinaguan was simply to die for according to Hubby. He was in a nirvana that took him straight back to his homeland. Living in Toronto, we have eaten in many Filipino restaurants and NONE of them even closely compare to Ka Familia. The wait staff were amazing. The food and presentatio were second to none and Chef was humble, kind and truly talented. Let your taste buds soak up the treats awaiting at Ka Familia. You won 't regret it...I promise. Kudos to Chef Dhom. SARAP! PS. The music and ambiance were absolutely stunning."

"Event staff was the nicest and fast service ever. I didn't make there job easy and the staff did amazing. Went for a wedding. Beautiful space. Very clean. Lots of room. Chairs hurt after a while. But that's not too bad. Music was great. Waterfront veiw was amazing. Food was good. I'm sure if they weren't cooking for so many. It would have been perfect. Salads were huge leafs not chopped and way to much ceasar dressing. The steak tasted like it was steam cooked. The meat was just extremely tender. Not how I'm used to eating steak. Maybe the cut of meat. Over Beautiful location. And staff killed it. Bartender was amazing."

"I had to wait for tires to be installed at Costco and found this amazing hidden gem in Ottawa. Karen served us, and it was fantastic from start to finish. The menu selection was a delight to choose from, such fusion and variety. Was a challenge to make a choice. Ashley is the chef and takes cooking as an art. Excellent presentation and quality of food. Our burgers were hand-made patties. Thank you for such a fantastic experience."

"Better service when it's not busy. We come here often and I think the servers have come to recognize us. We try to go for early or late dinner, never between 6 and 7. If the place is full or has large groups, better to go away and try another place as you will probably have some items not show up or wait a long time for your food. When it's not busy, you won't be able to keep up with all the food on your table. Their fried rice is the best. My husband doesn't eat raw fish, so he sticks to the fried, teriyaki and teppanyaki stuff. I enjoy the salmon and mackerel sushi and the various salmon/avocado/cucumber rolls. The green dragon roll is good too. Their staff is friendly, some have difficulty with English, but they try."
