"We wanted to try this place for a past, but never all around. we had the two curs Sunday lunch for £17.95 with free filter coffee and a small glass wein for privileg diners (registering on their website and they will be email offers and the dates available.) the personal was really friendly and even if we were served by several different people, they were all helpful and worked seamless. the food was delicious and you could say there was a great attention not only to that, but to taste. we will definitely return."

"We visited last night for dinner with our friends. Firstly, the inside of the pub has a wonderful old school feel to it that is rare nowadays. Nice open fire going and great atmosphere. For food, we had a sharing platter between four of us...then for main we had the feather blade steak, duck and pork belly. All absolutely fantastic. The service throughout was superb and the wine was well priced. We left at 11 after three hours well fed and well oiled and the bill was more than reasonable for what we had. Really impressed. My only criticism would be the desert. We all had the Black Forest Eton mess and there was far too much cream and little else. It’s a shame as we all said if this was as good as the starter and main it would be up there with the best meals we have ever had. All in all, bravo to the church inn. Fantastic atmosphere, wonderful food and top level service."

"Having had breakfast in various establishments over many, many years I can honestly say this is the best English Breakfast I have had, Hot plates (a rarity) quality produce , not a drop of grease on the plate, perfectly cooked , amazing toast not from a pack of pre sliced bread , with butter that tastes of real butter. We had lovely piping hot Cappuccinos served in a huge mug which you would normally get in a small coffee cup at the same price with a delicious, obviously homemade little biscuit that reminded me of my mums . Staff were lovely especially the young man who served us, obviously a regular haunt as several people came and went recognises by the staff. A real little gem in this lovely village. Well done Plumcake and all the staff"

"I took my girlfriend here for Valentine's Day. We had two for 1 on the main course. The voucher explicitly stated that it could not be used on Christmas or New Year's dinner. Despite the fact that I gave them the voucher when we arrived, we were told that they had me via email about the voucher (what they did not have), as it did not with him in honor of Valentine's Day. When we told the person who was at the entrance desk about the voucher, who only claimed that he could not be used at Christmas or New Year events, he simply told us that we cannot use it. Usually I would have gone out at this point and went elsewhere, but since it was Valentine's Day, I wanted to treat my girlfriend and most other places would have been fully booked. We decided to stay here and dinate, obviously not in the best moods. The food itself was perfect although I'm not sure it was worth the £30 per person."
