"Thoroughly enjoyed our early dinner, reservation made for 5:30 PM. Service led the evening with every staff being attentive, informative, and friendly; this included the Chef! Our first dining experience in New Zealand, the waiter encouraged questions, which worked out as we were curious of New Zealand authentic foods and wine. Speaking of wine, I was unfamiliar with some of the white wine NZ wineries, a quick solution presented by our waiter, a tasting!! Fabulous. As for the star of the evening, the Wagyu Scotch fillet was perfectly seared and just the right size as we did not want to overeat. The gnocchi dish was insanely delicious, a smart combination of zucchini, snap peas and other accoutrements. The actual gnocchi were clouds with a light crispy outside omgoodness, a must try if you are gnocchi obsessed like me no dessert as we had other itinerary to get too. Of note, there were no screens on the open windows with some flies buzzing at our inside table next to the chef’s area, no one seemed to be concerned, though it was off putting to us Vegetarian options: Restaurant offers delicious vegetarian options Parking: Sundays and holidays free street parking Kid-friendliness: Restaurant accepts well behaved children"

"Arrived before 9am and staff were still setting up dining area and taking tables out, went on a grab one breakfast deal for 3 people, was not dissapointed when the food arrived, only thing was we ordered 2 fried eggs and one poached with our big breakfast but received 2 poached and 1 fried....i still ate my poached egg though as couldnt be bothered waiting. Ice choc tasted like it was watered down.....The service was great, nice atmosphere on a quiet street. Would love to come back for happy hour soon."

"Myself and husband visited on 19th September 2017 and I was absolutely stunned at the place. It is by far the best valentines I have visited in Auckland to date!! Because of this amazing experience we returned on 3 November 2017 to feast as a reception for our wedding with our close family members! They too enjoyed the experience! We again returned before we flew out of NZ on 12 November 2017 and again, it was an amazing experience, although our last visit it was quite busy, I believe this is because it was the weekend which is to be expected! Each visit was pleasurable, the atmosphere was amazing, the cleanliness was great and the food selections were average but delicious and filling. I ready did enjoy each visit and I look forward to returning when I return home. THE BEST VALENTINES IN AUCKLAND HANDS DOWN!!!"

"The dining area of this restaurant is simply amazing. I really like the olden style windows out front mimic the amazing olden interior. There is an alcove as you come in with an old-style cash register which they use for ringing up the bill. I really like the brick and wood interior with the metal along the edges. The booths were comfortable but I did feel like I was slipping out of my chair most of the time. The food menu is quite large and so trying to pick something was a bit hard. We ended up trying the venison kebab and I went with the Angus fillet with anchovy butter. The venison kebab was three huge cubes of venison served over rice. It was nicely cooked with a nice char around the edges along with the veges. I quite enjoyed the anchovy butter since it gave the meat an interesting flavour and nice saltiness. The option of croquette in place of mash was really nice since that was really tasty. I went with the salad instead of the roast veges and I enjoyed it mostly because it came with a boiled egg. We got the brandy snaps for dessert and they were really sweet and crunchy. The food was quite tasty and the service really nice."
