"I’d heard great things about the French Quarter and booked a table for Thursday evening. I wasn’t disappointed. The food was great, planche mixte and pil pil prawns, staff friendly and knowledgeable, great house wine and desserts really good too. We’d had such a brilliant meal that we decided to try and book again on Friday evening , luckily we got the last 2 seats at the bar. This time I had the mussels, best I’ve ever eaten, and my husband decided to have the planche mixte again! Superb food, lovely ambience and reasonably priced. Can’t wait to return"

"The service and the quality of the food here has never let us down. We ate here on both nights of our recent stay and were delighted both times. The terrine is well worth trying and the lamb on the days specials was very tasty and wonderfully pink. The cheese board included a couple of good quality local cheeses, my only complaint would be that on the first evening when we had our cheese sent to our room we received a better selection and larger portions than we did when we actually had the course served at our table the following evening nothing major. There is enough choice on the wine list to suit most tastes and at reasonable prices compared with some other location."

"Wanted to visit here for ages but never able to get a table. Starter of Mac n cheese salted garlic rosemary bread we’re lovely. Drinks are very expensive! Pizzas were seriously underwhelming pleasant but that was all. Good service and nice staff but the Newcastle Tap pizzas trump this place by a million miles. Shame really"
