"My partner and I visited for the first time for a Sunday breakfast. No one greeted us when we arrived so had to approach the staff behind the bar area making drinks. Pointed to a clear table which thankfully was clean. Noted the table next...to us was filthy, but didn’t seem to bother the couple who were seated there a few minutes after us. Both ordered the English Breakfast, a coffee, ‘proper’ mint tea and OJ’s. for full English which consisted of slices of bacon, small sausage, a few tinned mushrooms, a small spoon of beans, and a grilled tomato (less than half because the bottom was hacked off so it could sit neatly on the plate) The menu notes all served with sourdough toast. Well, to say it was meagre is an understatement. It appears like they took thinly sliced piece of bread and cut into pieces. So we both ended up with a middle and crust piece. Didn’t amount to slice each let alone which we would have expected for Had to send my OJ back because the straw was filthy, looked like food or drink had been slashed on it. Waitress apologised and replaced it but I was surprised and annoyed to see it on the bill. Had to ask for it to be removed. Generally a disappointing experience. Overpriced, dirty and doing things to short change the customer. I’ve never eaten anywhere where they deliberately try to ration the bread! Won’t be going back."
