"Overall, we had a nice lunch, but that was mainly due to the company. The staff were very good, service was excellent. £9 is far too much to pay for a glass of wine! I’ll make an exception if I’m viewing grazing wildebeest on the African Planes, or gazing out at the Mediterranean Sea, but we’re talking about a pub at Merley. The pizza that we ordered was very average, but my burger was delicious, however.........when we asked for condiments tomato sauce they said they had NONE in the house?! Apparently it hadn’t arrived with their stock order? Really? Fair enough, but if it had been my pub I would’ve sent one of the staff to buy some at the local Nisa 5 mins walk round the corner. If I had been told there was no tomato sauce at the point of ordering, I wouldn’t have chosen a burger! 3 coffees ordered, and they came with dessert spoons as they had no teaspoons left. They had all been used for a big party in the private room. Buy more teaspoons with the huge profit you’re making with every glass of wine? My local pub, but probably won’t go again, shame, as the staff were nice."

"It's a weather spoons so good value for money for food and drink. We had fish chips it was great! Outside seating if preferred also a small car park."

"I rarely write reviews but had probably one of the best Sunday Roasts at the old thatch. Such great atmosphere. Quaint country pub, friendly staff and excellent food. Bit of a drive for us but will go out of our way to go back."

"Hidden over this hidden gem of a pub/restaurant. honestly, one of (if not the best) Sunday roasts I've ever had. the food was delicious, the setting perfect and the staff super friendly welcome. Honestly, this fantastic little place cannot recommend enough!"
