"From the moment you walk through the door you are made welcome. Nothing is too much trouble and the staff are friendly and keen to put you at ease and ensure you have a super night. We were led through to a beautiful dining room, a stunning barn conversion where fairy lights twinkle magically against duck egg blue and stone walls, with high wooden beams. We started with spicy popadoms which were loaded with fresh tomatoes and sweet onions. A tray of sauces kept us entertained as we took advice on the menu from knowledgeable and helpful staff. I’m coeliac so it was fab to be able to eat pretty much everything. My partner ordered lamb bhuna and I had the tikka masala and wow it was so good. We once went to chutney Mary in London and that was brilliant. This was even better! We couldn’t believe that hidden in caythorpe is one of the best restaurants in the world, with the best chef and a very talented desert chef the handmade fudge at the end of the meal which looks like a rainbow is gorgeous. Even better, our dog sat next to us throughout and was made just as welcome as we were. The people running the waggon and horses are doing something really special. If you have one meal out this year, make sure you treat yourself at the waggon and horses."
