"We traveled from Houston and were so excited to visit this establishment from the online menu. When we arrived, we were told that the menu available was different than the one shown online, so a lot of the items that we were excited to try were not available. I ordered the daiquiri and was not impressed, my cocktail was extremely watered down and was such a small portion. You can tell that no creativity or love went into the making of this cocktail. Items that we ordered for our meal took so long to come out and when they finally did, it was incomplete, we had to wait an additional 15 to 20 more minutes for other members of our party’s food to come out. Our server was nice, but extremely overwhelmed with what he had been given to take care of. The attentiveness of the staff was lacking as well as the communication. We sat with dirty dishes on our table for over half an hour. My mother order the jerk chicken, which did not contain ANY JERK FLAVORING, it was extremely bland and the only highlight of that dish, what is the saffron rice… I have been in the hospitality industry for over 20 years, and I am so disappointed at what I have experience at establishment. Please DO BETTER. Your customers deserve a spectacular experience, and was delivered nothing short of sub par."

"If you visit DC, you may come through Union Station. If so, you MUST go to the food court in the basement of Union Station, and search until you find Sunrise Caribbean. You will have trouble finding it at first, because it hides in a weird part of the food court. But when you find it, you will thank me for writing this post! Sunrise Caribbean always has some faux meat dish such as vegetarian stir fry, which actually means delicious sweet and spicy faux chicken mixed with vegetables . It also sometimes serves vegan mac n' cheese! In any case, it will have plentiful delicious Trinidadian style vegetable side dishes! Very vegan friendly, huge quantities of food, delicious, smells great, tastes great, fills you up. You will feel like you have really begun your DC trip off to a good start if you eat here on your way through Union Station!"

"I absolutely love this restaurant. Most recently I placed a pick up order and it was perfect. I ordered chicken satay skewers with peanut sauce and Curry potato puffs with their cucumber/veggies vinegar sauce. All of the employees are extremely kind and hardworking. The food is delicious. I'm looking forward to dining in soon."

"The jerk chicken was salty and extremely spicy. The oxtail didn?t have any meat on them, so basically they gave me a big plate of rice and cabbage. The staff was very rude and unorganized, and I have no plans of returning ever again."

"Always a nice experience. Food is good, but people usually only sit upstairs on 3rd floor where there's outside and inside seating so it's kind of the nicest part of the restaurant to dine in. When that floor is full, they want to seat you downstairs on 2nd floor which isn't bad, but not my preferred area to sit. It's a little dark and secluded. My whole thought is, if I can't dine on third floor, I'm not dining in"

"I love their pizza, but they (the woman) were never particularly friendly or polite, but after I had written my review, it was as if they had read it and knew who I was, since I always used my debit card. the next time I came into her, she was polite and friendly. wow! another loan to her is that she made a really good pizza and I never had a bad to last week. it was nice on the top but completely burned, crispy and black on the bottom. it was too late to go back and I was totally ambivalent about what to do, so I did some pictures. I came in a few days later, showed them the pictures, found that the ones were too high. I totally understood that. I never had to ask for something that is a comforting feeling. on my question I came back a few days later and took my replacement pizza. they were both friendly and humble at both days, which made me feel completely comfortable. I couldn't have asked for more. the next pizza was perfect. it was nice up and down. thanks capital szechuan."
