"Eating Armenian food was a first for all of us and what an experience! The food was beautifully cooked and super tasty: as a group of 6 (including a vegan) we chose dishes across the menu and every dish was a success. The owner informed us about the different ingredients and flavours and offered helpful suggestions. The restaurant is beautifully furnished with fascinating pictures and portraits on the walls and comfortable, colourful furniture. This place is a must for any visit to Hastings"

"Takeaway Only Not bad at all. Salt and Pepper chips were a bit soggy due to packing but tasted really good. Special Chow Mein and Beef in Black Bean sauce were nice too. Never tried this place before but will use again."

"Jessica has the stable next to The Pelican Diner every Thursday. It offers freshly prepared balls and packs, brown or white bread, along with salads, nuts, homemade sweet treats and smoothies. There is a selection of four fillings for packs / babies, including spicy cauliflower with mint cashew spread, avocado and sun dried tomatoes, roasted vegetables with hummus and Mediterranean vegetables. All with fresh salad. Sweets vary every week, but could be chocolate folding jacket, bananas and rosin rock cakes or brownies. Everything's vegan. I go every Thursday as my weekly lunch break. Eco-friendly packaging is used, so this is a great place to eat at the beach or at East Hill for lunch. The baps are really tasting and filling the spicy cauliflower is particularly good and really good value at £4.50. A warm and welcoming place."

"We were stunned at the quality of our meals. Smoked haddock pie with a luscious mashed potato superb. So fresh and full of fish, egg and generous in size for one. I chose vegetables and salsa verde with it. Served piping hot by really pleasant and accommodating staff, our other order was the days special of a lamb madras pie with puff pastry. Crisp pastry, packed with meat and bursting with flavour. Accompanied by the crispest of chips and a brown onion gravy with our choice of cheesy leeks. All good is truly home made. How refreshing to get vegetables and real home style food these days!!!!!! Thank you. Service and attention to detail top notch!!"

"Hidden down a side street, you probably wouldn't even know it was there unless you passed it or found it on Google maps like I did. It's a small bar/restaurant that also has accommodation. It has a quite traditional rustic interior with polished wooden floors...and big old oak tables the name didn't really seem to fit what you find inside at all actually. From the photos on the walls the building has historic originals as a pub and hotel, so they should probably embrace that as it would be a better fit. We had several drink and food and were mostly quite impressed. My wife had the Vegan tagine, which she absolutely loved, I had the Rib Eye steak, which was perfectly cooked and my son had a pizza, which wasn't on the evening menu (just the lunch menu) so it was really good of them to do that for him. The service was fast, attentive and the food came quite quickly. There were a couple of down points that knock down the rating a star. Firstly my Portobello mushroom was almost completely raw and totally inedible, must have just been flashed in a pan for seconds. Secondly, the drinks were very expensive at nearly a pint and over for a soft drink."
