"Floor by the side of the table was covered in food waste, didn't look like it had been cleaned from breakfast service. My starter and steak was delicious but partners meal had elements that weren't right. We were given free desserts as a compensation however I couldn't tell if the base was supposed to be pastry or biscuit as it was mush and there was a problem with partners dessert. The hotel have given us compensation as it was part of our wedding anniversary meal."

"An excellent Christmas lunch prepared and served by the catering students. We had the salmon for starters, followed by the sea bass, and the sauce for the bass was exceptional. Vegetables were beautifully cooked, al dente. My Christmas pud was great and my wife raves about her poached pear. The new manager on the floor seems to be effective as the coaching of the wait staff was great to see. We have an obligation to support this restaurant they’re young people hoping to get into the hospitality industry and we have to give them opportunities to practice. Tremendous value for money, as always."

"My partner and I were looking forward to our meal at The Green Room Restaurant on 28th December. I had booked a table well in advance on line and upon arrival we were immediately advised that they were tight for tables. One table was right up against the side of the bar, another next to that was just at the doorway entrance and the other was available in the room next door, which we obviously chose. The menu choice was very good and the two main meals we had were excellent (with extra vegetables which were good portions). Service, however, was very slow for, I would say, everyone in the room, although we realise both rooms were busy at first. My partner ordered a dessert following his meal, but after about 20-25 minutes wait (we were the only ones in the room by this time), we decided to cancel it and pay as it was getting late. The waitress had not sent the order through to the kitchen and was of course very apologetic and did offer to have the dessert brought through which we declined. She said to her colleague that she had done it again and her colleague at the bar deducted the cost of the two soft drinks we had had. Whilst I would probably visit the cafe of the hotel, I would, unfortunately, not return for a meal at The Green Room. The room we were in was very plain and did not live up to our expectations."

"The food was delicious and great portions . I recommend sharing dishes so you can try as many as you can. Our group especially loved the Ho Fan noodles and mixed vegetables with black bean sauce. The staff were really friendly and had no problem with substituting different ingredients when asked."
