"It was a pleasant April afternoon when we reached the Grand View hotel. The hotel is located in a quiet place, away from the humdrum of the city, yet, close to the highway. It has got ample parking space, so there is no need to...worry. A few meters away are some commercial shops lined up vertically along the road. The inside wall of the hotel looked elegant with its stone and cement walls and nice, strong wooden chairs and a table with glass on top of it, decorated with a flower/ flowers in a long narrow vase. There are fans around to reduce the slight heat that you feel (actually it is pleasant, but since we came from outside, we did feel a bit sweaty). We ordered for a thali meals with fish curry, a chicken biriyani, naan rotis with paneer butter masala. The biriyani looked good, filling up to the brim in a haandi (semi-copper pot), the thali meals was grand with a lot of vegetables in katoris (small vessels to the food) and the fish curry looked tempting, however, it was not good. I had naan rotis with paneer butter masala. The rotis were good, nicely baked. There was a hint of maida I guess, but overall it tasted wheatish and good. The paneer butter masala was very nicely done and was extra spicy. However, the hint of butter seemed missing. It, however, was spicy, probably from the Chettinad masalas? Overall it was a good meal for us. We were 4 adults and a kid."
