"Visited pub with parents and daughter on Bank Holiday Monday. Almost all of menu available (a couple of minor items, they'd run out of). Service was quick , choice of vegetarian and gluten free food available (none actually designated GF but there are options with...some thought, aware of this as I'm coeliac! Sat outside in sun, plenty of space, food arrived first, left to own devices to enjoy it, no hurrying and immediate clearing away by staff. Excellent chips!!! Really pleasant atmosphere and very reasonable prices indeed. Well worth a relaxed visit. Very impressed indeed."

"We called for a late lunch when no one else was in the dining area. We were treated to superb salads with beautifully cooked chicken. There were heaps of pictures and prints on the wall with the history of the area and portraits of the various owners of Rufford Abbey, amongst others. Additionally there was a cosy snug dating back to tudor times I'm sure there be fights in winter to secure seats there! Plenty of free car parking opposite and outside. Opposite the hotel there's a water race and river for a meandering walk if you're so inclined."

"My daughter held her wedding here in June , it is a wonderful venue and they cannot do enough for you . They made it a truly special day and all worked so hard to achieve perfection . Would definitely recommend this venue ."

"Four of us 5 including the dog went yesterday and all choose different meals. Haddock, lasagne, Mushroom stroganoff Sausage and Mash. We were all very happy with the food. It’s a local pub so not a chain which is nice. Service was very friendly, drinks were good. They also do Doggie dinners which was great so the dog ate as well. We will definitely go back."

"Having lived locally for years I have ordered from the bamboo gardens on many, many occasion. I can honestly say it’s the best Chinese takeaway consistently. I have tried other places that are highly rated, over the years but this one stands out by far. It’s a huge credit to the local community of southwell and surrounding areas. Brilliant."

"A fabulous meal at this excellent restaurant. The service was second to non and nothing was to much trouble. Because of a disability I had to ask if the chef could cut my steak into manageable pieces, this was done without any fuss. The food was beautifully cooked and very very tasty and at a reasonable price. Just trying to work out when my grandson and I can come again."
