"First time visiting. Table booked for 5.30pm on a Sunday, we were sat down promptly and drinks and food orders taken pretty quickly. That's where the service kind of stopped for a while. Food arrived almost an hour after ordering, we asked for another round of drinks as the food came, we didn't have chance to ask anyone whilst waiting for food as the staff literally never stopped for a second. Within 2 minutes we had another staff member ask if we wanted drinks, 5 minutes after that we'd been table checked twice then nothing again. It was meant to be a two hour booking, by 7.15 we'd only had one course, no one had cleared plates or asked if we wanted any more courses. We had to go ask for the bill at the bar. I will say, the food was incredible, my fillet steak done perfectly, the staff were great but quite obviously there wasn't enough of them to look after each table properly. We'd return again when quieter. Lovely place but quite obviously understaffed for how busy it was which is understandable after everything that's happened and the shortage of people in hospitality but book out tables according to your capabilities."

"The only bad thing I could say is they could use a better location with a bigger dinning area, seemed a bit cramped. That was all forgotten soon after arriving because of the absolutely amazing customer service, the pork and smoked chicken were absolutely delicious, there wolf beans were suggested and I loved their kick, and the pudding was EVERYTHING! "We popped for some lunch last weekend and had delicious sandwiches. The fillings were very generous and it was lovely to sit in their clean, well kept garden in the sun. The food was so nice we decided to book in for a Sunday lunch and took my partners grandparents. The food was again absolutely delicious and the service was quick and very attentive. The pub was clean and had a lovely, cosy, country feel to it. We will definitely be returning again. Price per person: £20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Sunday Roast Beef"

"Very great quality burgers and highly recommended without a doubt. They have been in business since I was a kid and now I’m 44 years of age and they are still around. Always fresh to order and delicious crinkle cut French fries. My personal favorite is the fried steak burger with fries. Me and my girlfriend go every time we are in the area."

"We visited with a group of 10 people on Remembrance Sunday. It was very busy and we hadn’t booked (sorry ! however we managed to sit together and eat in the bar no problem. Despite being very busy , staff were friendly and helpful . Queue for carvery looked off putting but it actually moved very quickly . Carvery was great , very good value , hot and tasty . Brussels were a bit hard but otherwise very happy. Parsnips were lovely Yorkshire puddings were HUGE and very good . Thanks to Maggie the crew serving on the carvery who were very Friendly and helpful too!"
