"Food Food for when your drunk, thats all this is. The food was bland and dull but was overall okay. The chilli was as flavourful as water and full of mince with little to no beans or other ingredients. All in all the food here isnt great but its what you expect from pub food and isnt going to be top notch. Service The service was okay and the food came quickly. Complaints There was a few flys around as well as the overall place being a little unclean."

"Can’t praise staff highly enough for all the effort they went to to make a 70th birthday celebration special. The lady, whose birthday it was, had a number of dietary requirements. Most places, where we have previously eaten, pay little more than lip service when they say they cater for dietary requirements but, having made prior contact and spoken to the chef, here they produced a delicious 3 course meal which the whole group were able to enjoy. The staff were pleasant, efficient and attentive. The ambience was very pleasant and we couldn’t have asked for a more enjoyable celebratory experience from start to finish."

"We go every week on midday to barkers to eat a meal, a great cappuccino for barbie and a topf earl grey tee for me. nice eating and always a great service of martin, tracy and josh. Our b B customers are recommended to go here when they visit helmsley and they all say a great place. probably the best caffe in helmsley. I'm not here."

"Even if they are not vegan / vegetarian, this place is definitely worth a visit. eating was amazing and the staff was more than helpful to explain what each dish contained. on one side, the restaurant is not very small, so you can not always get a table and I don't think you can book. Other than those recommended"

"Arranged to meet a friend for lunch.Although it was a sunny day chose to sit inside because there were issues with wasps in the outside seating area. The prices of dishes on the menu seem to be on the expensive side . We both opted...for the Ploughman’s lunch which was over but from the description sounded delicious. However the meal certainly did not live up to expectations . The bread was toasted not chunky pieces of fresh bread as expected for a ploughman’s lunch and served without butter which we had to ask for . The terrine was a tasteless crumbling mass of dried meats not a sign of any apricot as in the description. The coleslaw was also dry . The cheese was an ungenerous square of cheddar . We did enjoy the onion marmalade which gave some moisture to the meal . With a pot of tea for two the bill was over We did mention our disappointment to the staff who said they would pass on our comments to the chef."
