"Our server was a blonde lady who was absolutely lovely! Moved us tables so we weren’t blinded by the sun and then served us so politely. It was a Friday night and quite busy but we felt un rushed yet also seen, great balance from the staff. Really enjoyed it"

"A wonderful old welcoming pub serving the best Sunday dinner. I cannot (not that I want) from the friendly, helpful staff to the perfectly cooked and presented meal (the ale is also good,) it was best and I recommend it very much."

"3 stars feels a little harsh, 3.5 would be about right I think. Overall I would say that the food was really good but perhaps not as good as I was expecting based on the price. I started with homemade breads which were served with...a small knob of herb butter. The butter was just out of the fridge and not really possible to spread. This is so frustrating as its an easy win. Just make sure the butter is soft enough to spread. I had the sausage and mash expecting something a little more than just sausage and mash' The sausages were nice and the mash was fine, but no more than that. The treacle tart was a highlight. lovely. We were sat at the end of the restaurant and I spent the evening with my back to the whole restaurant which means missing out on the atmosphere. the table could easily be turned to allow a side on aspect which I think would be better. Service was great and the staff very friendly. Will definitely go again, and I may have been more impressed with a more exciting main choice."

"As a birthday treat we decided to stay local. I felt the service was all very rushed, we hadn’t even a chance to look at the menu before asked for what we would like, my husbands croissant had arrived at the table before we’d sat down, which instead of being fresh and crisp was stodgy and had a funny metallic taste, I went for the bacon butty, which certainly wasn’t freshly cooked bacon, you couldn’t smell bacon being cooked and within a couple of minutes that to was on the table. The bacon was grey! And most unappealing. I couldn’t eat it. Even my husband didn’t want to finish it off! All in all very disappointing. Which is such a shame. We’d like to support local businesses especially after the year we’ve all been through."

"This has changed a little from a restaurant to a farm shop although there is some seating outside to have coffee and cake. The cakes are always nice and usually have a gluten free option. The bread and french stick by the friendly loaf are delicious, proper bread ! There is a good selection of other food including meat and fruit and vegetables. Worth a trip out."

"So disappointed. Had a fabulous Sunday lunch not so long ago, what has gone wrong? Really limited menu, struggled to order,but the courgette fritters were ok. Cod for main was bland to be honest, nothing on the dessert menu appealed. Waitresses looked as though they would like to be anywhere but there. An alarming amount of flies buzzing around us, and it was so hot, not the restaurant’s fault I know, but still off putting. An hours drive for us, so don’t think we will rush back, which is a shame as we love the venue."
