"Just had my worst experience ever in a restaurant. Never in my life have I experienced breathing difficulties/near asthma attack in an eating establishment. Harvester avoid. Waited 5 10 minutes at reception desk before being spoken to Coffee machine not working Asked for more tea told had to use same pots as no more clean ones Drinks machine ran out of Pepsi Waited an hour for food to be bought out had to ask where it was Whole place full of smoke from kitchen. People wiping their eyes due to stinging. I had trouble breathing/aggravated asthma. Couldn’t finish meal due to breathing problems, asked for windows to be opened to be told they don’t open. They propped fire escape open with chair. Manager said extractors don’t work properly. Said they are due to be cleaned tomorrow, but they don’t work correctly and with all the cooking and no ventilation, it causes the smoke. This was not an isolated incident it happens regularly due to insufficient extractors. Returned home, had to shower and put all clothes in wash as absolutely stank of smoke. Only saving grace due to threat to health they cleared our bill, which is why I’ve awarded 1 star. Will not be returning. If the inspectors from Dudley Council or Food Standards Agency turned up, they’d get closed down immediately."

"I booked this to celebrate a birthday. The desserts and drinks were amazing, really well presented. The staff were really accommodating. There were quite a few of us so they had rearranged the tables so we could all sit together, including making room for a wheelchair. Will definitely visit again, particularly as they open until late... great for an evening coffee and catch up with friends."

"The staff done the best they could I guess and they were polite and curteous but we arrived at 6 pm for a family birthday dinner. QWe had all pre-ordered our food. Our food was not served until after 7pm and only because we had to ask to be served. My partner and I did not have starters but others in our party did. When our food arrived my sirloin steak was okay but very badly presented. My partner had ordered the rib of beef but this was absolutely shockingly bad. It was burnt, the vegetables were sloppy leaks and cabbage and there was no potato other than what appeared to be four pieces, smaller than and as this as a two pence piece. It was not even tasty. The starter plates were not taken away before serving the main meals either and were left piled on the table. The mains all came at different times and some of us had almost finished our food by the time others were served. The manager did apologise for this and gave a round of dinks as an apology. However, I cannot recommend this establishment to anyone else as it really was not a pleasant dining experience. the food we had was certainly not worth the money paid. My partner and I have eaten at other Ember Inn establishments and have always enjoyed what we have ordered at those. Unfortunately The Old White Horse at Stourbridge was a let down and we will not be returning. Price per person: £20–30 Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 2"

"Ordered at 7:30pm today it is now 9:30pm. Rang at 8:30pm told us it’d arrive in 15 minutes maximum. Would not recommend. Appalling service"

"Bought a chocolate milkshake and really did not enjoy it. He used the same spoons as before which had banana on it which then made my milkshake taste like banana. My friend bought a cookie dough and by the time it came to our table...it was cold and went all hard and couldn't eat."
