"Came here just to try the Nainaimo bar. States it has the original recipe. Only tried the bar to compare, but has an ice cream option. Obviously visited by locals and visitors. Nanaimo bar had an oily custard on top of a Oreo cookie like base with small flakes of Oreo. The proportion of base to custard to ganache was mostly base, which was 1 inch thick. Ganache was the least part of the bar. Overall, something to try but depending on your taste, may not be my favourite. Shop also has variety of old school and new candy and a good selection of ice cream for those hot days."

"Delicious gelato. the popular espresso stracciatella was good, but we liked the fried banana s’more better. a few centimeters outside provide cool people."

"Take the halibut off your menu. I am embarrassed for you serving a sliver of dried up halibut, this really makes your establishment look bad. Your staff should be able to answer if one can tie up with their boat and come up for lunch, not very informed the staff considering they are on top of a Marina. The table beside us also talked amongst themselves of the awful hali....no but fish."

"We have been loyal and frequent customers at Ricky's for years, but in the last month have found a sharp decline in both menu quality and service. Our most recent visit gave us vegetable soup that was little more than tasteless boiled vegetables covered with...grease, followed by congealed liver, onions, potatoes, gravy and an unhealthy and unappetizing dollop of greasy fried turnip cubes. When the waiter asked how things were going we told him it was not up to the usual standard, and he replied with a string of facetious cracks. The waits for everything, including the bill, seemed endless while he chatted idly with other staff. The pandemic cannot be blamed for any of this. A restaurant should close its doors before descending to the level of a poor soup-kitchen. Very sad."

"My family and I had a lovely dinner here this past weekend, we were staying at a hotel near by and was told to check this place out glad we did! Great food, great service and when we left.. our kids were excited about the tractors to sit on/pretend play with, and we noticed their ice cream store with tons of picnic tables available outside and a campfire area... we will definitely be stopping by again this summer!"

"Not bad! the worst experience of all time. we went to breakfast today and got our order at 10ish. the server has thrown off the water and the coffee, but we have never refilled water or coffee. waited almost all hour for our order. the same contractor/server came to our table to confirm our order after an hour. they have not started our or enlightened to turn it into the system! it seems as if a lot of people have gone at the same time as we have gone and the courts have been skipped also have been crushed! never!"
