"So, 7 miles into what the other half had promised would be a “short walk from Rhosneigr” we stumbled across this lovely hotel. The bar was closed and it was very peaceful. We were thirsty and hungry. I ventured in and received the warmest welcome I cannot thank the ladies enough, even with a closed bar they gave us drinks, crisps and water for the dogs. Thank you so much. We promise to come and spend some money in your bar/restaurant and will donate to the RNLI in thanks of your kindness"

"I was a bit worried about how the food would go as we had seen some varying reports of the restaurant, but I can only assume that the chefs must have recently changed as our meals were absolutely fantastic. The staff definitely seemed a little...new, but everyone is new sometimes so this didn't bother us. Given we were staying at the hotel it didn't matter if things sometimes took a little longer, as we only had to go upstairs to reach our beds. The food itself was to die for. I could have paid as much in a nice restaurant in London for this food and still would have been happy with it. There was not a single fault in any of the food or wine we had. The normal restaurant room was closed (not sure why) and they served us in the banquet hall instead, but honestly I think the banquet hall was much more impressive than the images I've seen of where the restaurant normally is. When you're staying in a castle why would you want to eat in a normal room when you could eat in a spacious hall with enormous windows and stunning views of the water?"

"Today my husband and I treated ourselves to lunch in the garden. We were able to take our dogs and water is provided for them. The menu was surprising. It had all the usual stuff but also a selection of things a bit different. Prices were very affordable for any pocket. Tea comes in a nice big pot so enough for two mugs each with an offer of extra water if you want it. All condiments are in sealed packets, as is sugar. The tables are sanitised before anyone is allowed to sit down. Hand sanitizer on every table and the staff really do wear masks above the nose all of the time. Anyone can feel safe here. The food was lovely. We both had the loaded potato skins which you can have with just cheese or chicken, ham and cheese with no price increase. The staff were so welcoming and treat locals and tourists to a pleasant experience. It’s very rare you can say this but there was absolutely nothing wrong! Service was fast too. I was told that they will be starting a men only event on Wednesdays from 6-8pm so boys if you want to get out without your wife and get fed at the same time it’s for you. Ladies get the men out of the house for a couple of hours!"

"Had a lovely lunch here. The food was traditional and really tasty. The portions are very generous. Very friendly bar and table staff who were very helpful and efficient. Restaurant decoration and paintwork looked a bit tired, but this didn't detract from a very enjoyable meal. Service: 5"
