"Our friends and I visited The Deck Anchor today for my birthday lunch and it was fabulous! Firstly the seating was roomy and comfortable on the deck overlooking the Mary River and boats, catfish playing under the deck and the occasional Water Dragon basking in the sunlight by the river. We ordered drinks, starters, mains and deserts and the wait staff were fast, courteous and attentive to our every need or want. Lastly the food was delicious, fresh, and left nothing to be desired as it was perfect and the menu represented the dishes to perfection. Today there was live music and the talented musicians played a really good collective of old and classics that drifted throughout the conversation bringing good memories to everyone at the tables. The owners are lovely people and we wish them all the very best as this restaurant is a must if you visit Maryborough, and if you don’t normally visit, take a drive but book ahead due to Covid planning! "Can 't say what the meals are like because we never got one. We were greeted by a waitress and told to be seated and she would bring us water and menus. Other patrons arrived after us and were given their water and menus and had their orders taken and we continued to wait. The same waitress then wiped down a table next to us while we still waited for service. When we eventually told her we were leaving because we couldn 't wait any longer to be served she replied with goodbye . Very poor service, could not recommend!"

"This was a great spot for breakfast on a sunny but fresh May morning. An interesting menu, well prepared food, great coffee and friendly service combined well with the view of the river curling past.So much so, that we returned for lunch. Despite some large groups before us, our food came in reasonable time. We all had salads - one beef/noodle and the others cous cous and roast veges. They were fresh and delicious. Breakfast was accompanied by music of Bob Dylan and that era. There was a live musician for Sunday lunch. We could have sat there all day. A great find on a weekend in Maryborough when most places seemed to be closed."
