"Absolutely shocking!!! What the hell has happened to ruby murrays?! hour for kebab meat and chips kebab and chips! Phoned up time told by girl it was on the way, phoned up after mins as live minute from the shop...wondering where my food was and the girl on the phone couldn’t handle the conversation and passed me on to what iam assuming was a delivery driver, what the hell has happened to that place you used to be the best!! Wont be ordering from them again...."

"We called for a late lunch when no one else was in the dining area. We were treated to superb salads with beautifully cooked chicken. There were heaps of pictures and prints on the wall with the history of the area and portraits of the various owners of Rufford Abbey, amongst others. Additionally there was a cosy snug dating back to tudor times I'm sure there be fights in winter to secure seats there! Plenty of free car parking opposite and outside. Opposite the hotel there's a water race and river for a meandering walk if you're so inclined."

"My wife has special dietary needs which were well understood and catered for she thoroughly enjoyed her liver bacon casserole. My pizza was a bit leathery . We 'd certainly return but avoiding the pizza!"

"We needed a dog friendly pub that we could walk to and The Rose Cottage did not disappoint! Our month old cocker spaniel puppy was greeted in without any fuss and the menu selection was brilliant. Exactly what we needed after a long mornings...walk. Pleasant staff and the decor I thought was quirky and fun. My wife had the beef burger and a bruschetta, I had the hunters chicken and halloumi fries with chilli sauce. All dishes were delicious and beautifully presented. Gutted I didn't take a picture of the food! They were happy for us to have it all together too as we were nervous about having our puppy calm while we ate for the first time. He did really well. What really makes this a star though is the extra mile for dog owners. There's a dog food menu!! We ordered our boy a side of chicken which looked delicious (a whole chicken breast). They also brought out a water bowl for him. Thank you so much for such an easy lunch."

"The hygiene was awful, it was just dirty everywhere, made me feel very grossed out even before i got my food, my food wasn’t great, the chicken tasted weird and i couldn’t bring myself to finish the whole meal"
