"We have driven by this establishment many times and after discovering a coupon for it in our Entertainment book, decided to give it a try. My only regret is that we didn't try it sooner! The restaurant is in a busy, small plaza and is frequented at lunch time by the students of the nearby high school, so try going outside of the noon time frame. It is a long store, facing the side parking lot, so it is a bank of windows letting in a ton of light, showing you just how clean the store is.The food is simple, straightforward and the menu is limited to a few items, revolving around the Shwarmas, Kebabs and Falafels. It is outstanding. You get massive portions, the food is fresh, especially because of the volume they serve. The pricing is more than reasonable and you get your money's worth of food. We've been back twice since our initial visit 10 days ago! It has quickly become a new favorite and I will choose it over big box, burger stores 100% of the time"

"A bunch of our Chartwell residents have been going here about once a month for several months now. We have enjoyed the food but have found that it is getting kind of expensive for we seniors to be able to afford. We may not be able to get a group together for future ventures. I have noticed that the water they serve, reminds me of swimming pool water, seems very chlorinated taste. Service is good for those items you need extra."

"I remember went I used to get excited about going to or getting take out from Swiss Chalet. That was a long time ago. It's been a few months since I'd been to one and the downward slide slowly continues. It actually makes me sad...because it used to be great. It's like watching a great athlete in decline who should retire but won't. Food was average and service flat. Don't expect much anymore."

"Good food, friendly service, worth the wait. I see I 'm not the only one who had slower service. We came here because a 'Lindo ' restaurant not too far away was closed that evening. This is a small restaurant, with seating for 24-30, roughly. From what I could tell, there were two people working on a Monday evening. And they were *working*. Service was a bit slow; one person full-time in the kitchen, our gracious and friendly host also in the kitchen. Our nachos were hot and fresh haven 't had that at the related restaurant); I think that made them taste better. The salsa that comes with them is not spicy feel free to ask for 'Diablo ' sauce). All of our dishes 'Tabasco ' combo; enchiladas suiza) were freshly prepared and cooked, as expected. Maybe it was the wait, but they tasted better than at the other 'Lindo ' restaurants I 've been to, even though the dishes pretty much the whole menu) were the same. The wait did not seem too bad, or maybe we just didn 't get impatient, but we certainly enjoyed our meals."

"This is a gem of a restaurant. We decided against all-you-can eat because we are tired of the bland taste. What a treat! The food here is fresh and high-quality. And incredible portions! Super-friendly service in a calm, inviting atmosphere. If you’re looking for great Japanese in Pickering, come to Sakura."

"This was my third visit to herongate. My first two visits were excellent. The food was delicious and the shows were hilarious. However, this visit fell short. The vegetables were over cooked and the other items were ok. They list gin and vodka martinis on the menu button do not have green olives to go with. The show was good but not the good belly laugh I was looking for. I do enjoy herongate and will go back."

"Just came back from the restaurant. Had the Sunday lunch special - a big piece of haddock on a mountain of fries with coleslaw and as much tartar sauce as you can squeeze from the bottle for....$7 each! My wife and daughter couldn't finish their fries, and I was so stuffed I couldn't help them They also have halibut and cod, as well as gyro and souvlaki. The patio's now open, and they're licensed to serve alcohol. Apparently they have a $3.49 breakfast too."
