"My husband and I had the most amazing meal last night at the Hesketh Arms in Rufford. The special starter of Sardines was very tasty and well presented, the tomato salad was outstanding using a variety of different coloured fresh tomatoes which really enhanced the dish. We both decided on steak for our main course my husband had the rib eye, and I had the fillet, they were both cooked to our preference of medium rare and they were both perfect and tasted beautiful, my husband had the special apple and cinnamon pie desert, and I had ice cream both delicious. The staff are always very professional, and nothing is too much trouble. We can highly recommend the Hesketh in Rufford and cannot wait to see you all again soon. The Johnson’s"

"Poor, had a cheese and onion Toastie. There was no cheese. The whole cafe is totally disorganised. Takes 25 mins to get a coffee. Chaos."

"I visited on a very cold afternoon for a coffee. Delicious coffee however i feel I have to make the following observations. Firstly, a family when entering the cafe were told it was closed however the waitress continued to serve a couple of customers with further coffee and cake about 30 minutes later. One of the waitresses due to finish a shift was in the food preparation area brushing her hair not good. Thirdly, I asked where the toilet was and was given directions only to be then told that it wasn't working, I'm not sure I would be keen to return to this cafe. With regards to the hair brushing this is a basic hygiene issue."

"I called in for a relaxing coffee after dropping my son at nursery. Staff were very helpful. They went out of their way to check ingredients to make sure there was no dairy in the drink I had selected. Sometimes when I go in places I'm made to feel like a nuisance for asking if products are vegan friendly but here they were lovely, friendly and helpful. Makes a big difference to your day."
