"We stayed at Island Place in Bar Harbor for three nights and I would highly recommend it. It was very reasonably priced and had everything we needed. Since it is such a small motel, with only about 11 rooms, everything was so convenient. We could park right in front of our room so the many trips back to our car were quick and easy. They have a small table and 2 chairs outside every room where we drank wine and reflected on our day each night. We had 24 hour access to the main office which was only a few doors down and it had coffee, a hot water station for tea and hot chocolate, and a water bottle station with ice so we could fill our water bottles as needed. Also, the people were very friendly and helpful. The location was an easy walk to downtown and there was a grocery store about two blocks away as well. The room is nothing fancy, but had everything we needed and was very clean. The flowers and landscaping around the hotel was well done. Compared to the cost of other places close to downtown Bar Harbor, Island Place is a great deal and we would definitely stay there again."

"Coach Stop! We can't say enough wonderful things about this charming B B. They thought of EVERYTHING to make our stay enjoyable and convenient. We chose the Somes Sound room, and it did not disappoint! The queen-size bed was super comfortable, the room was spotless, the bathroom is huge and well-stocked, and communication was perfect. The little touches like charger stations, an umbrella for walking to breakfast in the rain, extra towels, bottles of water, and double luggage racks were so thoughtful! Coach Stop is in the perfect location north of Bar Harbor, so you aren't staying in the middle of all the noise, traffic, and tourists. Check-in could not have been easier. Parking was just steps from our little patio (btw, a delightful place to read early in the mornings. Plus, there are snacks (coffee, tea, and cookies in the main house every evening! The best part of all were the innkeepers, Jim Anna. What PRECIOUS people! Anna greeted us at the door for breakfast and bent over backward to make sure we had everything we could want! And Jim is the chef ...oh my! Even with our many food allergies, he created the most inventive gourmet meals for us! They were the most delicious of our entire vacation! (His Eggs Benedict alone was worth the drive to Bar Harbor! Not to mention the ginger lime watermelon. "
