"What's good to say about this place? One word Nothing. $18 for a delivered steak and chips and salad(if you can call it that) that looked like it was pulled out of a packet a week ago. As for the meagre amount of chips, you'd be lucky if they stretched to half a metre if you put them end to end. As for the steak, apart from being just on well done (even though it wasn't supposed to be), it's probably the worst steak I've had in Dunedin. $18 isn't a lot of money, but seriously save your money and go somewhere else, like Rope and Twine for lunch where you get two courses for $14 and decent portions."

"Monday and tuesday 0.5m pizzas half price and they are fantastic, ate there twice and watched a midweek lions game vs the hurricanes. Good atmosphere and highly recommended. Apple crumble was pretty good, not sure about vfm at $10 but its a holiday"

"I can only say wonderful things about Modaks as on both of our visits the service and food we're fantastic. The decor is wonderful with a selection of formica tables and chairs that look like they have just come from the 70's. Images on the walls by local artists. Breakfast was amazing. My monster eggs kept me going all day. My sons salmon looked fantastic. The service is fantastic. Will happily visit again."
