"I had been looking forward to trying Osteria for a while, but the service reviews kept me from going, I finally decided to give it a try. Absolutely horrible service ruined what would have been a very good meal. We were one of three tables total while we were there, I hate to think what it would be like if the whole room had been full. As a result I will not be going back,"

"The good: the food and service. Got a gyro with everything on it, very good all around. One of the best gyros I've had in quite a while. Also came with fresh cut fries, which is always a big plus in my book. Service was quick and friendly. The not so good: the prices. $16 for a gyro, fries, and a drink?! The gyro was tasty, but I've paid a lot less for gyros that were almost as good since I visited this place. Also, this location is right around the corner from Downers Grove North high school. I dunno if it's like this every day, but when I went around 4 PM it was swarming with kids, presumably from that school, who let's just say were some of the strongest arguments for birth control that I've seen in a long time, quite frankly. Without those kids, the atmosphere would've been fine, but on my visit, it was awful. Obviously that's not really the restaurant's fault, but it's a flaw of the location all the same. Will I be back? Probably not, truth be told. Even without the kids, my wallet did not like those prices. If I'm in the area and want a gyro again, I'll go to the Mr. Submarine further down the road. It's a lot cheaper there."

"The place was nice and clean but a few issues plagued my stay at the time. While I was there for a week, the first three days the keycard stopped working each night and I had to get it reset each time. During mid-week construction started without any prior notification from the staff and it was noisy, the dust choked me, and the parking lot became partially blocked off. When asking the staff at the lobby how long the construction would last the desk worker gave a huge sigh. That is not an acceptable reaction I would expect from the hospitality industry. I got an email from the manager later after submitting a below-average review on the above issues and while it was a sincere apology, it was not very affirming. All the reply mentioned was I have gone over this with the front desk manager about the key problem, but nothing more. Also we apologize for the construction -BUT (that is not an apology then) we were scheduled to be serviced, thankfully it took only one day. No, it did not take one day as I recalled the construction being started on that Wednesday and parts of the construction continued off for the next couple of days with the parking lot still partially blocked off. Never staying here again."
