"I live in Sidney but needed a staycation during the heat wave. So I checked into the Travelodge in Sidney. The hotel gives you a 20% off a regular meal. As it was cheap wing night, I started with a few of those; spicy blue...cheese. The server was right. They were not too hot and were delicious. I used to come with a group of people one Thursday evening a month, a couple of years ago, and always loved the wings. This was my first time ordering a meal and I opted for the Shepherds Pie . It was absolutely delicious. They use Ten Acres beef, which adds a lot of flavour. It was supposed to have peas and carrots but didn’t, much to my delight. I grew up on frozen garden vegetables. So I do not like any regular frozen peas and carrots. The gravy was a beautiful dark gravy and delighted my taste buds and enhanced the beef and mashed potatoes. The salad was super fresh, beautifully prepared with a wide assortment of vegetables and a lovely balsamic house dressing. So my hats off to the chefs. The service was exceptional. The servers name was Angie and I was astonished how well her service was; considering there were only two servers. There have been times, as a single person, that I haven’t received the same level of service as couples and groups. (This has been especially true of the Whitespot restaurant chain). She was friendly yet not intrusive. She attended to all my needs with conversation and a genuine smile. She recommended the delicious Shepherds pie. Cudos to Angie for outstanding service. All in all it was a lovely time, indeed."
