"Madly in love with the Hsieh Family Restaurant. I absolutely ADORE this restaurant. I've been going once or twice a month for almost three years and I've never once had a bad experience. The servers now recognize me and my fiancé on sight and remember our orders, now THAT is some top notch service. It's always packed full of Asian people, usually I'm the only white person in the place which is a sign of some damn good, authentic food. I love this place more and more every time I come there. The beef and chicken chow mein are unbelievable and the spicy beef noodle soup is on special on Wednesdays which means it's a cauldron of soup (enough for 2-3) for I think $6. Unbeatable."

"There was one item on the "dinner for six" that was good..the shrimp were mercifully properly cooked, tender, tasty...I cannot say the same for anything else. The beef & mushrooms for example consisted of barely cooked, quite large mushrooms in some sort of flavourless dark sauce with a few pieces of beef, the dish should be re-named as "mushrooms with beef". The soup was a concentrated beef stock so salty it could be used as a de-icing agent at the airport. The veal dish consisted of over-cooked, dry breaded balls..I could go on, but you get the general idea. There are many, many really good restaurants that serve asian food in Winnipeg. Seek them out, do not waste your time nor your hard earned money in this establishment.One final note..the owner spent some considerable amount of time arguing on the phone with someone who had called to complain about a vegetable dish, the customer was obviously, in his opinion, wrong."

"Service was slow for a Sunday but I think it was because they were understaffed. Typical Chinese restaurant decor and setting but clean. Waitress was nice and helpful. We ordered the curry chicken and and garlic pork with fire rice. Both were delicious! Food was great and portions were perfect. Would go again"

"We have ordered from the McGregor location a number of times, most often for pick up. The deluxe wonton soup is consistently great! My husband likes the king pao chicken. The mushroom egg foo hung is also consistently delicious. This time we ordered for delivery. We ordered the usual things as well as the deluxe chow mein. When the food arrived it was cold which was disappointing. Most things were good but the chow mein was not at all appetizing...tasteless and gluey. We won't be ordering that again. Prices are good and the portions are generous."

"This was a really fun place to go for Chinese food because there were so many interesting dishes on the menu, many that we'd never tried before. Apparently ownership changed a several months ago so disregard older reviews that complained about the service, food or decor. The service we received was very good and our server was really helpful in deciding the best choices for us. We'd love to go back with more people so we can try a wider variety of these tantalizing dishes. We ended up with a mixed vegetable dish featuring eggplant and green beans. The vegetables were cooked perfectly and the sauce was exceptional. Our second dish was spare ribs coated in sticky rice. What a great combination. Delicious! There were several other tempting options some not for the unadventurous! But what impressed me was the fact that at least half of the menu items were dishes I had never seen before. The menu featured large glossy photos making the selection a little easier. I understand they have a noon hour buffet which I will be trying soon."

"So the restaurant we wanted was much too busy so that we started driving, discovered this little place, said why not go into us. friendly reception. large menu, so we asked for advice to round up food. good suggestion .and then eat excellent. good portioning, good taste, very good value, just different enough to not just another Chinese restaurant. we had special garnels, special veg deep baked calf very nice mix. would go back in a minute and do not hesitate to recommend."
