"OH MY!!! Best sweet potato fries ever. I had PLNT burger earlier that day and they don’t have anything on Hip City Veg. I truly believe this was the best vegan burger I’ve ever had. The burger was very flavorful. However, the nuggets are my only complaint. They were too tiny to not come with more. It felt like I ordered them off of the kids menu. Please make your nuggets bigger or include more! Otherwise, I’m a very happy camper. Side note: Come to Boston… pretty please with a cherry on top? "

"Everyone on the restaurant staff was great!! We had raw oysters as an appetizer for $3/oyster. They were very small not worth the money, however, the pear salad was very good and I had a veal porterhouse for an entree it was accompanied by what I think were scalloped potatoes which were excellent"

"This is still one of my favorite restaurants in D.C. and it is still top notch 8 years later. When I started coming here, they did not accept reservations and we would wait in the rain for the opportunity to dine, so I was so happy to see that they finally use Resy for reservations. I think years ago, the menu was a la carte and now the menu is presented as a five course family style affair where the most amazing bread is presented to the table. Then each person chooses their own meals from the first two options, followed by the third which is a shareable option for two people. So, if you have six people, then you would choose 3 options to share. The last option consists of an array of three desserts. We tried all of the dishes and we loved everything except the desserts were interesting.....I love creme brûlée, but the sweet corn through me off. I love baklava, but none of us could correlate the taste of this deconstructed dessert with the honey, walnut goodness we are all accustomed to. I did enjoy the English sweet pea cake. Rose's Luxury has received numerous accolades over the years and I do not see them slowing down anytime soon. It is a pleasure to see that not only did they survive covid, but the level of service is still consistent where quite a few restaurants have lowered their standards."

"I had a great experience here and shared the only window seat with someone. It was nice to be able to look down on P Street Northwest. The Negroni I ordered was the best I ever had. We shared a bottle of Pinot Bianco, my favorite white wine. The meal was incredible and quite filling. I was surprised. You might expect a place like this to have smaller portions. The Mixta course was a kind of scallop ceviche with dill and cilantro. Crostini with lardo and cherry tomatoes. Delicate Italian cauliflower in an anchovie olive oil sauce. The Secundi was watercress ravioli in a walnut butter sauce. I had quail wrapped in pasta, in brodo with spinach. The meat course was Dorade for me. My first experience with that fish. It was a little bit of a fishy fish if you know what I mean. My dining partner had wagyu sirloin tip. Then there was a cheese course with sour cherries, followed by dessert, a kind of rhubarb strawberry tart. Quite delicious, with homemade vanilla ice cream. I booked the place using a deposit of over $50. At the time I didn't realize that each dinner was going to cost $113. With the wine pairing, it would have been $186/person. With one bottle of wine, the cocktail, tax and gratuity, the bill was close to $400. That's a lot of simoleons for a person like me. The ambience was nice and quiet. Food quality was excellent. I would recommend this restaurant if you want to have a high level gourmet foodie type dining experience, and can afford it. I'd love to go back sometime."
