"The place is small and super pretty, between the frescoes on the walls and windows of another age, you feel in a historic cocoon. Here everything is delicious and visibly very local, I think we are on the short circuit. The service was fast and pleasant, we had a great time there."

"We went in at and the place was empty. We asked Madame if we could have a table: yes she said, I can fit you in, but I've got another party wanting the table at It was rather surreal, but to be fair...the place did fill up rapidly and with it there came the atmosphere you'd look for in a place like this and service was good. They serve proper bistro food here: not fancy fine dining stuff, but simple food done well with a couple of little twists to lift it. I had veal, with mashed potatoes and vegetables; my wife had lamb. We elected for desserts: I had a handsome cheese board and my wife had a hot chocolate fondant with tonka beans, which had real depth of flavour to it. It's not cheap dinner for the two of us came in at about euros but it was worth it."

"For a business lunch the setting is pretty good and the staff is smiling and warm. the map is rather garnished with daily dishes and a price quality ratio challenging any competition. It's pretty good but you smell frozen fish without consistency and especially without flavor and the sauce is not good at all."

"We were attracted by the set lunch menu in this restaurant in a timber-framed medieval house. The dining room is welcoming and comfortable and offers a memorable experience, reinforced by the playful waiting staff. The eclectic menu has local ingredients, including deliciously prepared seaweed from Brittany. Special diets were only modestly catered for. Everyone in our party greatly enjoyed their meal: the meat was cooked well, the pate was exceptional, the desserts interesting. If you are exploring the old part of Rennes, this is a very good address. Do go!"

"We went to the restaurant at a stop on the way to the são michel. We were assisted by a Portuguese who was very kind to us. I ordered a steak and fries and my husband ordered a calf roast. food was the most tasty we ate in france. food is well seasoned and at the point requested. We praised the food and ordered a dessert, and who came to bring us dessert was the chef himself. The price is excellent. wonderful value quality price."

"La Cantine des Garçons is a very friendly place. I've been there every week since the opening. The dishes oscillate between good and excellent according to day inspiration and fresh products. The two managers are extremely sympathetic in addition to being very attentive to the returns that can be done. I recommend 100% this small restaurant to take away or on site.
