"Set in the main square and bathed in sun if you are lucky. Service is very friendly and relaxed. Tables and chairs are perched precariously on cobblestones and the menu offers a self-service buffet of appetisers and desserts and very tasty main courses. Excellent value for money. We were there on a quiet Thursday in September but the place was full."

"We were in Perouges in November, which is low season. Another restaurant was recommended to us but it was closed so we went to Le Veneer Noir. The food was great. I had the beef tartare and my husband had the beef and duck that you cook yourself on a hot stone. Both dishes were good. The beef and duck were extremely fresh and tender. Both our meals came with salads and they were good. The Gratin Dauphinois was very good and rich. The staff was also friendly and gave good service."
