"We did not know that the restaurant was reopened when we lived in la vallee de barousse and it always looks closed. since October and today we had another nice lunch on the New Year's Day. a very nice start to the...Meal with small nibbeln and a cocktail, followed by charcuterie, magret, ris au veau, the latter very rich and very french! croustade and chocolat fondant for dessert. we love the beauty and rustic charm and the owner is very pleasant. I recommend it. they are closed for the next two months, but then open all middays"

"This was my worst experience while traveling along the French Pyrenees. I was cycling with a group of friends and we arrived there by 19.00, we asked and were informed that the kitchen was closing at 21.00, so we decided to have a beer first while deciding what to eat.After the beer we called the owner (he was the cook and also the waiter) several times but he ignored us, so we even went inside to tell him what we wanted to eat. He did not wat to hear us and asked to wait until he came to our table.20 min later he went to the front door to finish smoking his cigarrete (by the way, he was smoking into the kitchen before that). At that moment we insisted and suddenly he said that he was not cooking anymore and he was not going to serve us more food.You can imagin how disappointed we were. I just can't belive that somody like him owns a restaurant. Disgusting.Fortunately we found a very nice restaurant just 100m away in the main road of the town."

"If Saint Mont is the same as Chez Simone, we had an incredible lunch there! Since the church was closed from 12-2, we made reservations at this cafe on the way up the hill to the church. We were seated immediately although packed by mostly locals, and the waitress was quite efficient. Since they were out of my entre , I just ordered a plat but my husband ordered the 3 course for 20 euros. My goodness, his salad and chacourterie could feed 4, and we both enjoyed. Then his lamb stew and my pintade arrived, and I was in heaven with the fresh, young vegetables accompanying the pidgeon. The efficient waitress suggested that we have dessert and coffee on the patio, and we thoroughly enjoyed the view before making our ascent back to the church. A great experience and food in an unlikely place!"
