"The property was relaxed, informal, in an excellent semi rural location. We arrived in torrential rain with our 2 dogs to a warm welcome. The rooms were clean and simply furnished, we had a ground floor room with an outdoor terrace with seating; it was lovely to sit outside, with the calm of the courtyard fountain with a glass of wine when the rain stopped. The next morning the sun was out and it was glorious, the outdoor space is perfect, lovely shady eclectic seating areas, and a fabulous pool and tennis court. Our stay was a pit stop but we would definitely have no hesitation in staying again. The property was appropriately priced."

"A friend who lives in the village usually travels to meet us for lunch because there has been no restaurant here for a few years, and that was just a basic bar. after the reviews I tried to try the new le vassol. The...interior is tasteful and there is an open fire for the colder months. outside there is a beautiful small courtyard with a simple fountain and the walls are suspended with plants. the shading is supplied by sunshades and there were some gaps in which the sun immersed. the midday menu does not offer choice and the alternatives were also restricted. we would recommend the fixed menu. today's offer was an appetizer of humbly with chorizo and salat, roasted pork with an orzo risotto (nicely seasoned and much lighter than rice) dressed with a mix of sweet and tiramisu. everything was freshly cooked and delicious. the service was efficient and welcoming. we recommend it and would return anytime."

"It was the listing with a rosette in the Michelin guide which persuaded us to drive for 40 minutes to eat in the Chateau of Mazan. The dining room was elegant with an eye-catching life sized horizontal nude placed immediately above our table. I thought her pose was a little too contrived for her to be the eponymous Ingenue. The staff were friendly and attentive. There seemed to be lots of them with different people welcoming us, showing us to the table, bringing the menu, offering bread, taking the order for food, and wine. The food appeared very quickly with the amuse-bouches arriving while we were still enjoying our aperitifs and the nibbles which accompanied them. Now, barely a week later, I cannot remember any of the courses, which is a reflection on me as much as on the restaurant. We concluded that there were nearer restaurants such as Bistrot de Lagarde d'Apt or Les Lavandes at Monieux or Le Louvre in Sault where we could eat as well for the same amount or less."

"What a great little place! Only had a couple of beers, so not really able to judge whether a 5-star review is in order, but we had a great time. Nice prices, super friendly, english-speaking staff, and a big TV showing sports (cycling if available)....I'll be back!"
