"Moved to sawston recently, so we are exploring the area around. Visited this place for the first time on my birthday, turned out to be a great find. Good quality and tasty food. Great service. Will visit again InshaAllah. They say that they serve halal food except duck so its good option for muslim community as well."

"First time here will definitely be going back. Lovely building full of nostalgia. Friendly and helpful staff. Decided on something to eat, and the menu read so well. Can definitely recommend the steak and kidney steam pudding and the southern fried chicken burger. Both superb and just being able to taste the homemade goodness of it all. Marvellous. Also being able to watch the chef work was a bonus, as was him personally delivering my dessert, which was a warm Victoria sponge.. Which again I'd highly recommend. "I can’t say how amazed I’m with the service provided by this very lovely lady “Jo “at sawston Mc Donald’s , I always enjoy visiting this restaurant and it is such a delight just seeing Jo at that place , if someone is reading this from McDonald’s that lovely lady do deserve a raise !! "My family and I visited the George for Sunday lunch. Lovely pub that was really busy so had a buzzing atmosphere. The car park was full so we had to park our car out on the street not really a problem. The service was informal but attentive. The venison pie was lovely I thoroughly enjoyed it. The rest of our group had roast dinners, the only criticism would be that the food was a little tepid and would have preferred it hotter (however I’m sure this would have been rectified had we have asked). We all had room for pudding and the orange and gingerbread cheesecake was delicious highly recommend! We felt the prices were fair for the quality of food we had. Would definitely return to the George."
