"I really wanted to love this restaurant. The setting is just lovely with wonderful views. It is peaceful and beautiful. But the food was under-seasoned and sounded much better on paper than it tasted. The prawns (in the tempura) had not been de-veined and the sauce was bland. The salad in the poached egg had not been washed or washed well and there was lots of grit. The big slices of truffle on top were preserved ones and taste-less. The octopus tail and mashed potatoes was very disappointing- we have eaten lots of versions of this dish in Portugal which were SO much better. The staff were nice-enough and one even helped me and moved my car. Sadly I would only recommend this restaurant for a drink with a wonderful view. Hopefully the restaurant will improve."

"Having had some disappointments in Michelin starred restaurants lately, I am glad to say that Les Bories wasn't among them. I enjoyed my evening there very much. Not only were the service and the ambiance very pleasant, but everything I ate was lovely to look at and delicious and very well prepared. It wasn't cheap. mind you, but for me the price was well worth the experience."

"The spirit of the rosemaries. We loved everything. the setting, outside, on a terrace facing the beautiful village of Gordes, to the sunset. the meal consisting of an entrance(sales of tuna beautifully decorated and flavored or a foie gras around the plum, excellent), succulent dishes(loup for the market of the day or lamb county of provence) and desserts(fromages of the region or pastries around honey and Provençal fruit) was a happiness from end to end. And the service, pleasant, vigilant, dispensed by lucie coming from marrow and that coming from burgundy, was perfect and friendly. A very good time spent in this pretty corner of the lubricant."

"Our party of two booked for an evening meal just a few days after the Mas des Herbes Blanches opened again for business after several months closure for total refurbishment. The new décor is very Provençal and in quite a quirky way. We went for the seasonal set menu (at 65 euros) which in June was themed around the tomato. Every single dish from the amuse bouches to the dessert (yes even the dessert) contained tomatoes in one form or another. On balance the theming worked well but the pre-dessert palate cleanser of yellow tomato purée with pineapple was an odd combination and didn't really work. Similarly the dessert combining red tomatoes with strawberries was rather odd. Service was polite and relaxed but rather erratic, perhaps indicating the newness of the restaurant (we had to wait interminably for the bill). Small glasses of wine at 12 euros seemed rather excessive. And finally why a restaurant of this supposed quality has to have incessant infernal muzac playing is a mystery."
