"My experience of Germany and Germans in general are that they are a practical and efficient bunch. I have always enjoyed the food offerings in Germany and it is normally quite good value. On this visit I seemed to have located the exception to the rule... We were looking forward to going to the Blockhaus as it has a fabulous view and what seemed to be a great atmosphere. Our visit proceeded as follows - upon arrival no one showed us to a table. We eventually wandered around aimlessly and found a table ourselves. A waitress appeared at some point and took our drink order, and when she returned she brought some menus along. The menu offerings were mediocre and quite unappealing, but we were hungry and eventually settled on something that sounded okay. After waiting 15 minutes with no sign of our waitress we found another member of staff who took our order. Five minutes later our original waitress appeared and we informed her that we had already placed our order. This was not well received and resulted in a scolding from her advising us that we can only order from her. We advised her what we had ordered from her colleague and she proceeded to place the order again!At this stage I was hoping the famed German efficiency would kick in and she would see that her electronic system already indicates an order on our table. Or, alternatively, that a member of the kitchen staff would query why a duplicate order appeared within 5 minutes. Alas, not so! Two minutes after chastising us our waitress appeared with our food. You would think that surely she must have realised that because we only ordered with her 120 seconds before this must have been the earlier order we were referring to. Alas, still not! Her colleague then appeared five minutes later with the second order - looking very confused! You think at this point a staff member would say something to us or her colleague to clear up the confusion, but no - this did not happen.When we had finished the meal (not very exciting - but the ingredients were fresh and at least had more taste than British food) it was another round of 'try to locate a waitress'. We eventually received a copy of the bill only to find that they had charged us for 4 meals - no one had bothered to correct the error. When we pointed this out the waitress went away in confusion, and returned five minutes later and also proceeded to blame us for ordering twice. In what world do staff chastise customers for:1. Their colleagues not being around to take an order for a table they are allocated to2. Their colleagues helping a customer by taking an order from a table which is not allocated to them3. Their colleagues not believing a customer when they advise that an order has already been placed4. Their colleagues in the kitchen not picking up a duplicate order5. Their colleagues who brought the duplicate order of food not thinking to question or correct the errorAll in all - not the greatest food or service."

"Ich war an einem Freitag abend allein dort zum Essen und wurde an einen für 6 Personen eingedeckten Tisch geführt. Die Service-Dame (eher gekleidet, als ob sie gerade ihre Wohnung renoviert) meinte, es sei wohl ok, wenn sie alles eingedickt ließe.Nun ok, aber wenigstens das Gedeck neben mir hätte man ja wohl ausdecken können, nein müssen! Übrigens: Eindecken heisst ja nicht, nur Besteck und Gläser auf den blanken Tisch mit billigsten grünen Papierservietten legen! Für dsas Preisniveau kann man schon Stoffservietten und wenigstens Tischläufer verlangen! Ich bestellte Tomatensuppe und danach Lamm. Der Gruß aus der Küche (Brotkorb mit Butter) wurde einfach so auf den Tisch gestellt, die Butter noch in dem Brotkorb. Die Tomatensuppe kam als sehr große Portion, war aber leider total versalzen und ich konnte sie nicht essen. Zum Abräumen kam ein Service-Mitarbeiter, der dann noch fragte "hat es geschmeckt?" Nun, was denkt er, wenn die Schale noch komplett voll ist? Auf meine Antwort hin, dass meiner Meinung nach die Supper leider total versalzen ist, wurde der Teller mtigenommen und das war´s. Dachte ich. Aber dann kam das Hautpgericht. Leider auch total versalzen, die Rösti , das Wirsinggemüse, das Lamm. Ich esse sehr gern stark gewürzt, aber das überschritt sogar meine Geschmacksnerven. Dazu kam, dass das Gemüse leider nicht nur biss- sondern sogar schneidfest war. Auf der Rechnung fehlte dann die Hälfte, ich meine, dass ist bei insgesamt 5 Artikeln (2 Getränke, 2 Essen und 1 Espresso) auch schon schwierig.... Fazit: Niemals wieder, schade, dass ich überhaupt dort war und immerhin € 40,00 ausgegeben habe."

But I was very disappointed by the room: drain in the shower was disguised. the kiss we just pushed out because of the penetrant odor. the terass door did not open 3. og unterm dach in summer. the night lamp was defective. büffett: best for breakfast at 8.00...was there at 9.00 a.m. and everything was already very sorted. also on request was not moved. butter! the eggs and also the rührei were cold. of obstsalat there were only a few lonely apple pieces. there I will be used by a 3 star hotel other: .very pity. because the kitchen and the staff are so big!"
