"Newly opened in Hawick and located in the middle of the High Street, this new Costas is an excellent coffee shop. Tastefully furnished and of a decent size, this is one of the best Costas that I’ve visited in recent years. It was formerly a WH Smith’s store but it unrecognisable now. Lovely seating area and good staff, can highly recommend"

"On our way home from a trip to the Borders, we decided to stop here for a look at the shop and a bite to eat. Large premises, clean and sanitisation measures in place. However, I would say the meal was just OK . I was wondering how the batter on our fish and indeed, the shape of the fish was so perfect before I tasted it, then it dawned on me. This is the type of produce bought from a wholesaler it wasn 't fresh and the texture of the defrosted fish was not very nice at all. Same with the carrot cake it was just OK and obviously, not baked on site, but bought from a wholesaler. Our lunch was also somewhat spoiled by staff members talking very loudly to each other, in fact shouting from the upper level retail side down to the cafe. Keep your chat for out of working hours, please. All in all, not the greatest experience and we certainly wouldn 't recommend this place."
