"Great location on the water front of Gourock. Staff are very friendly. Good selection of beverage and the menu isn't to large. The food is excellent. They cater for many dietary requirements. Portion sizes are generous. For the quality of the food the value is fantastic."

"Was not Very impressed with this place, the starter was great, but the main course was very dry and needed a source. Tiramisu had no taste to it which was very disappointing. The only saving grace was ambience was nice."

"Was in for a coffee last Friday when a guy came in told everyone that the owner only pays the waitresses £6 per hour!!! He keeps the tips when the customer pays by card. The cash tips aren't shared out properly either. The owner watches every customer the waitresses which is pretty creepy."

"A group of 8 friends together to celebrate big martys birthday. we all enjoyed our meal, and between us we have tried the various appetizers and snacks. the mush and seafood pasta was my star dish of the evening. good service and we all stayed happy."

"Food was tasty and we enjoyed our meal. I think the menu is toned down to match local tastes very moderate compared to Chinese in the more cosmopolitan areas of the UK. Assumptions of Western cutlery and of no gratuity on the card may support that idea, but both of these were changed on request. My Szechuan Beef, while tasty and colourful, lacked a bit of punch. For me, the Hot Sour soup was a little salty, but that is just personal taste. Chicken Chow Mein was very nice. Portions were all generous. If I sound negative, I apologise in summary, see the opening sentence above."

"I have used this garden centre for many years. This time I went to buy some herbs, tomato and cucumber plants, most of which are doing well, but one of them needs some TLC and either the birds or the slugs in my garden got all the coriander! Not the fault of the garden centre! The garden centre is well laid out with plenty of space to move about. The staff are helpful and friendly. There is a large carpark with an overflow too, so it is no problem to load your car. When we were there the car park was fairly busy but there was a distinct absence of shoppers within the garden centre area. Obviously the tea room here is a big attraction. Like other garden centres Cardwell has had to diversify over the years to survive."
