"With an outside view that entices you in like a cozy log fire at a North Pole Christmas igloo, Smokey Woodfired Pizza promises a lot. Unfortunately tonight, business isn't booming as everyone seems to be next door in the Indian restaurant, but the welcome and service is as warm as my opening sentence, which gets things off to a fine start. <br>

While sitting down and waiting the obligitory 15 minute wait (more like 10, in reality), amongst the handful of magazines available to read and a radio blasting out the local news and sport, I notice that this restaurant has won a quality award (see photos for more info) which was reassuring. I have been keen to get a better insight into just what this place is made of as a) its local b) the Zomato review is just the one and sounds like a bad experience c) When all the other reviews on other sites are raving about (how good is) the place! <br>

"Maharani had been highly recommended to us. So we took a punt. The owners are friendly however the food was not as good as we had hoped. The lamb korma was colourless and had no taste and the butter chicken was not much better the chicken was very dry. Pakora was dense and not freshly cooked and Naan was like cardboard, although the dogs enjoyed it ."

"Room for alot of improvement. 5 staff members , some standing around behind the counter and two to have walked past me twice, non of these staff acknowledged me for for close to 15min even though my order was ready on the screen. Drinking slurpies and energy drinks with no concern for my being there. Staff member wearing gloves to make pizza was holding her engery drink with gloves on, used those glove to remove mask from face and then back again. Did she change her gloves? No she did not! she went strait back to making pizzas. Staff members leaning on counters and chatting right Infront of me. I was only served when a new staff member arrived and asked me if I was ok. This is a food service franchise so maybe don't talk loud enough for a customer to hear about a staff member being away due to testing positive for COVID!! This is not a hangout hub, customers pay for good service and food. I would recommend the chil.dren here having some serious guidence"

"We went here for a early breakfast on a Sunday morning. The breakfast burrito was nice and filling. However charging $17 for one piece of toast with a spoonful of brown tasteless avocado, 2 eggs and a sprinkle of bird feed isn't a way to keep people coming back."

"Good sit down meal. Hadn't been here for quite a few years, the food was really good this time. On a Monday night we were the only table in the place and I had to ask them to turn the music up as it was a bit silent. Highlights were the dry beef which was really good, also the honey prawns and a Mongolian beef were great. We really enjoyed the food. It cost about $30 a head for meals, and $20 for drinks including beer and wine. Quantities were large and we took a fair bit home. Recommended, will probably come here more often now."
