"Not too oily! The oil is a bit old so points off for that, as it made the food taste a little more like oil. However, the calamari was not overlooked, not rubbery, and the chips were light. Hamburger with the lot didn't fall apart, the onions were lovely, and the cheese was processed cheese but melted really well. The patty was not too shabby , had some good flavour. For reference we came in for a quick lunch on a weekday . Worth a try, hope the standard is kept up. Didn't have any fish but it looked freshly defrosted and not manky at all like in some places. Ultimately I love fresh fish and chips, but have only ever found that in williamstown."

"Just had dinner here. As I was waiting a waitress walked past and started coughing..didn't bother to cover her mouth. Not a good start. If I was from the health department I would have demanded she attemd lessons in health and safety. I ordered the catch of the day and asked for the fish to be cooled light batter. I shouldn't have bothered. The fish itself was almost non existent beneath the non light batter. Note for the owner. It is just as easy to provide good food as it is bad food, it's all about intention. I for one will not be returning. You have spent a lot of money outfitting your shop. The reason you are not busy is your product is not up to standard..."

"Ripples in Malvern is a sister restaurant to Ripples in Bentleigh. Carole and I had come from an appointment earlier in the afternoon and were passing the Malvern restaurant and decided we would try it to contrast its food with that of its sister in Bentleigh. I should add we have been there before but not for two or three years.We arrived early in the evening, but it was not long before it started to fill up with patrons which we felt was indicative of its quality. Given it was early in the week, this is a good sign indeed. Being so close to the Malvern Station, I am quite sure it attracts a lot of passing trade.The vegetarian spring rolls, which we both enjoyed were excellent and good value.We also tried the Peking duck which begin was very good quality indeed, hot and great to eat - thoroughly enjoyable.We are both going through a phase at the moment we we really enjoy trying salt and pepper squid throughout the restaurants we visit. We were not disappointed in any way with the offering presented at the Malvern restaurant, it was excellent quality and most enjoyable. Accompanying condiments were very good indeed all of which made it a very good meal. Finally, and in many ways very importantly, it was not oily, and yet very crisp – definitely a prerequisite for salt-and-pepper squid.Service was very attentive, courteous and helpful.The restaurant is licensed and has a good selection of wines and spirits.The big question is would we go back – most definitely, it's a very good place to go for good quality food."

"The flake was quite blend, needed more salt petter. The snapper dory were good. Chips also lacking salt but you cSn easily fix that. We also tried the burgers Pretty good!"
