"We had an excellent evening at the recently renovated shilton rose crown Matthew, Yvonne and Raul conform a warm and attentive team of hosts. Amazing food that evidences their background and experience in the restaurant industry. In the midst of a frantic evening full of clients during the jubilee week end, Matthew sit down with us to share some of his trekking experience in Southern Patagonia, which was a bonus for as as we come from Argentina and we go there every summer. This is an must stop for eating in the Costwolds region and so we will spread the word Matias Ade Zaefferer"

"We visited here on our last night whilst staying at the Burford Caravan Club site. This is a small typical Cotswold Pub, immaculately presented in a small hamlet off the Burford to Lechlade Rd turning on the crossroads to the Cotswold Wildlife Park. A small but varied menu and after a busy Bank Holiday Weekend some of the dishes was sold out but there was a choice of two dishes of the day on the specials board together with a veggie dish, meat and fish and home made pie. Our meal was excellent, cooked fresh and all served by the friendly proprietor. Two course meal with two drinks each came to £56. We only wished we'd have had room for a sweet as they all sounded lovely. Thank you The Rose Crown for rounding off a lovely weekend."

"I was at the carpenters Arms with a friend .we had the prawn toast and whitebait to start which was so fresh and crisp.The mains of seabream and mussel chowder is the best I've tasted.it was followed by a very lovely apple and blackberry crumble plenty of fruit and lovely home made ice cream which we share.All in all a lovely lunch.The service was no intrusive but also felt looked after by Holly and Kate. Parking: Enough parking for 25 car's"

"I go to the restaurant often and I went in last week because they have a new menu so I had the fish and chips and it was out of this world the best fish and chips I ever had had the batter was beautiful and light and very tasty and they do half a barbecue chicken which I had one day that was beautiful and fresh not frozen chicken and the all day breakfast is to die for it is definitely a must try me on the menu and all at very reasonable prices and lovely friendly service and atmosphere the best food to in the cotswolds phillip Bryan"
