"We ate at the Eiger Guesthouse Restaurant twice during our 4 day visit to the Gimmelwald/Murren area, and both meals were really good. They serve a nice mix of Swiss traditional cuisine, as well as pizza, pastas and salads. For us, it was also excellent that they served meals later. We were very active during the evening, and were looking for dinners around 2100 hours, and Eiger Guesthouse was one of the few still serving. The beer and wine selections were nice, and the kids were happy with their meals. Thumbs up all around."

"At the end of a full day hike at the Gimmelwald I was pleasantly surprised to find that the hostel had gluten-free beer (Daura Damm) and made ready gluten-free pizza bases. It may not have been the best pizza in the world, but as it was unexpected, it was fantastic. The gluten-free option is not on the menu, you need to ask when ordering."

"Well, Gimmelwald isn't what it once was despite the ooohs and aaaahs. On a normal day in summer or spring you actually need a RESERVATION to eat here, even if there are just two of you and you only want a quick sandwich at one of 10 open tables. And never mind that the service people don't even speak German. All English here. Oh, and don't get me started with the kids doing nothing but staring at their cell phones. Gimmelwald has become just an Instagram photo. Not even Walter's place gets any business because, omigod, it's up the hill a little from all the action. Rick Steves, I'm afraid you ruined this one. Better to wander around Lauterbrunnen's upper valley if you want to see how people live around here. Or get off the train to Wengen at Wengwald and wander up to Leiterhorn. And, if you really must have a restaurant, rent an e-bike and go up the Lauterbrunnen valley past Stechelhorn to the Berggasthaus Trachsellaunen for something special, especially the valley view coming back home."

"In the middle of the Swiss Alps (literally) we discovered the most genuine and friendly restaurant with the best view in the world!! Simple but tasty food at affordable prices for the area (as it is joined to the backpackers) and incredible service. We returned...each night of our stay in Gimmelwald and were greeted warmly by the lovely waitress dressed in traditional Swiss costume. She went out of her way continuously to make sure our meals were to our expectations and we would highly pass on a recommendation to anyone travelling in the area. Not to be missed!"
In nice weather you can even eat and drink in the outdoor area.

"To be fair, I did not try out all the foods in Murren, but in general everything was just OK, which makes sense, it is very difficult to get/delive. This food is really tasteful and delicious and the couple that runs the restaurant is super beautiful...! Great comfort eating after a long day of hiking."

"We are here for dinner twice at our two-day stay in Lauterbrunnen. It had the most vegan options on a clearly selected menu. The staff was helpful and friendly and the food was delicious. There are not many options in the city for a vegan dinner and we have it here so much we came in the second night. It is nice to have other options than a veggie burger that seems to be the mass of the city. I loved her lentil stew."

"We made a reservation here based on the review. The restaurant was crowded, but the atmosphere was good. Unfortunately, the service and the food were not great. We had pizza, which was just O.K., but the service fell short for the prices they were charging...here. There are quite a few nice places to eat here in town and I would recommend trying a different one."
