"This is just an amazing place to go and brilliant for a family with children of any ages. The building is from 1933 and has been restored but retains a completely original feel with many of the fittings remaining as they were The main pool is the warmest I have ever swim in and there are two side pools that are very hot and amazingly relaxing. We visited in winter and there was not another person there (twice in two days). This is a hidden gem in Rotorua and a lovely place to soak in on a winters day regardless of weather."

"Could not disagree more with some of the negative reviews below. The food was excellent, service was fast, waiters were friendly. The Aubergine Roulade and Spicy Beef Noodle salad were well flavoured and a good sized portion, however the Teriyaki Chicken Salad was absolutely sublime. Kids thoroughly enjoyed their Mac and Cheese with sundays. Would definitely come back again.<br/ <br/"

"If you are looking for delicious food then this is the place. It's not a family restaurant but more of a fancy date night place. It's quite expensive but the food is really good. The highlight for me was the seafood chowder! 10/10. It's right near the water so it was a nice view. The service was friendly."

"A Experience top to bottom. Sevice A Ambience A Food A By far the best dining experience I've had to date and was able to treat my wife to an amazing dining experience for our anniversary. If you haven't tried Matai, you need to! It may change your perception of fine dining forever. The waitstaff are very personable and attentive, the restaurant had such a relaxing vibe and the quality of food was rediculously good. Everything was so balanced. The chef took simple ingredients and combined them in a way that made it VERY easy to finish everything on the plate. Definitely need to try if you haven't yet!"
