"Not only Borkumkenners will be thrilled by the region of Ostland: very primitive, full of pure nature and extensive views. A trip here, whether by bus or coach, by pedes or by bike, is one of the highlights and can hardly be topped. There are exactly two locals at the place – and they are usually propitious and more than well visited. Only in low season you can easily find a place here. But even outside the season, the service can be quite sweating in the face of an unexpected group (which also has a limited time). So also at our stop at about 3:00 a.m. on a nice Tuesday afternoon. The Oldtimerbus continues in a half hour without grace, before that there are still coffee, tea, cakes and toilets. This leads to short-term discussions under the service, because apparently nobody wants to rush here. There are word changes that are not intended for the guest, which then also seem embarrassing to ailing. With the slogan “The Last Restaurant Before Juist” the rustic, rustically decorated restaurant, with a cosy guest garden, where the spades are strolling and looking for brisks. Probably the “Eastland” was once a farm with attached stables. Now you can sit here very nicely on wooden furniture between nice tinnef and lovingly bound flower bouquets. In between an old buffet or an even older wooden dresser. The guest rooms are distributed on two levels, with the stairway to the lower level and the toilets being somewhat gloomy and badly illuminated, so that some disabled guests have slight difficulties. The extensive menus offer a variety of options, from mate dishes to cakes by country-wife type, from meat specialties to vegetarian dishes, plus a large selection of soups, salads, potatoes. The audience is currently mainly composed of women's groups on a coffee tour, along with sporty dressed young people and younger love couples. In school holidays, it'll look different... In addition to a generous, versatile menu with a rich but also fine offer, the attractive cake offer, the many ice cups and very special offers such as milk (with different fruits or black bread), as well as butter milk. In addition, a lot of coffee specialities and, of course, a huge selection of tea served with sugar dumplings and a biscuit, either in a pot or as a large portion in a can on a pretty trip. During our first visit we choose coffee (Pott for 3,00 Euro), East Frisentee on the small farm (5,50 Euro), Peppermint in the pot (3,30 Euro) and two pieces of porcupberry cake with a grassy baiser hood (3,20 Euro). The friends who accompany us praise the high sheet metal cake with juicy friedberries over all dimensions, even claim that it is the best of its kind they would have ever eaten. During our second visit a day later we choose a glowing wine due to the fallen temperate herbs (which, however, already comes out of the bottle, is delicious and tacky – but the waiter is already telling us about the origin when ordering), three balls of ice cream after choice (which are served in a high glass ice cup), and a creamy cappuccino. It is also a pleasure to drink sand thorn juice or shower. If you're on the bus, it's a good idea to impress the return times, otherwise it might be inappropriate for a long time and feel compelled to consume more than he originally intended. It is also bad if he travels back with a large group of travellers and possibly only gets a stand. Then the buckthorn shower is shaken thoroughly. All in all, the Cafe Restaurant Ostland is a highly popular, well-visited and popular day-trip restaurant – not least because there are always horse-carrying and stopping old-time buses to be enjoyed here."
