"Over the years we have driven past this place and have been impressed by the number of people queuing up. Olympia had also been recommended by a friend a few years back. This week we decided to stop off and give it a try. We ordered the standard battered fish of the day with chips. The fish was supposed to be cod. The fish was as dry as a Ritz cracker! Also, the fish didn't seem like any cod I have ever had. I don't know if this was because it was so badly cooked, or if it wasn't actually cod. Even the chips were somehow anaemic, very dry and bland tasting. Our attempts to make the fish and chips more palatable by slathering in salt and vinegar couldn't rescue the food. None of us could finish off the meal as it was like eating cardboard. One thing I noticed was that there weren't many people queuing up this time; very different from what we have seen in the past. We wondered if this place is under new management? If the service wasn't friendly, I would probably give it one star."

"The owner was really a wonderful host. Probably the highlight of the place. The food was actually kind of mediocre, okay at best- not saying it was not yummy. It certainly was! But the price to portion to value ratio was off... Very pricey and quite small portions. We were aiming to have the seafood platter to share, however it sounded like it had deep fried items on there (I would not associate a high class establishment to serve deep fried food) and was mainly oysters prepared various ways... So not terribly varied. The service and singer were okay, a little abrupt. Lastly, the chocolate pudding tasted like a cheap packet cake. I'd be very surprised if that was home made.Overall it was a nice experience but left very out of pocket and a little hungry."
For those who want to a beer after work and sit with friends or alone, Basil's Seafood Restaurant from Marsfield is a good bar, and you may look forward to the delicious classic seafood cuisine. Not to be overlooked is also the extensive selection of coffee and tea specialties in this restaurant.
